Another commentary blunder happened in the 2013 world cup when the Cook Islands coach David Fairleigh was interviewed after their win over Wales.

Sideline reporter: "David you must be disappointed with that result?".

David: "We won didn't we?

For me, Laurie Spina takes the cake.

About 10 years ago on ABC Radio he was calling a Saturday night Cowboys game when it was obvious the longer the game went, the more pissed he got.

It got to a stage in the second half that he called a player from a team that wasn't even playing! More than once only to make it worse.

I remember years ago on Fox during the game Vossy got diahreah, and Geyer and someone else had to do the commentry, It was a raiders game and MG just lost it, couldnt stop laughing and ended up calling players that were not even playing

I think it was Ikin with him. It was the late game on Friday night, and they just spoke rubbish for much of the game.
Was actually pretty funny.

two of the best commentary blunders I remember

1. Vautin .. when talking about ugly tries "Even the ugly ones are good to get"
2. Rabs ... "Creagh aching to have a man inside him"


Also .. according to Gus the Dragons/Titans game on the weekend had Ashton Sims and Geordi Peats playing in it.

Ray Warren - Karmichael Hunt is definitely one of the best.

Another one of my favourites, I hope there's someone out there who remembers this! I was watching NRL on FOX, with Warren Smith, Gary Freeman and Scott Sattler. It must have been 2006, John Cartwright had just been announced as head coach for the new Gold Coast team. Sattler was raving about how good he is, and wrapped up by saying: "...and he's the perfect man for a head job"...

Freeman's reaction was priceless! Laughing uncontrollably. Sattler had a look of "what?" on his face, for about two seconds until he realised and then also started laughing hysterically too! Only Warren Smith stayed (semi) composed but they eventually cut to an ad break.

I watched the replay the next day hoping to tape it, but they cut that part out completely.
