Comp is Wide Open..

After the results of last night, I still think this comp is wide open and it is going to be a bloody good finals series.

Not sure about the Dogs now however and the Dragons are no certainty.

Your thoughts ??

As a dogs fan, I hope Newcastle beat Panthers. I think we've got a better chance of beating them in week one than parra. We need the week off to buy time for Kimorley's return. If he can come back, it's game on again. I don't think we can win without him though.

As for the rest, I think Knights/Panthers are the only ones without a real chance. It's wide open for the rest.

Wish the Tigers were there. So close again.

I look at some of the bottom sides in the 8 and you really have to wonder how the f**k we can't make it. A side with Marshall, Farah, Ellis, Lawrence, Tuiaki etc. has enough talent to make the top 8 of a 16 team comp. It seriously is not that f**king hard.

Teams that should be firing with little injuries are Dragons, Broncos, Sea Eagles, Titans, and Storm.

Sorry to Parra and Newcastle/Penrith fans, but I don't think it will be won from 7/8.

From bottom 4 Brisbane are probably most likelies.
Manly are like a yoyo.
Bulldogs will struggle without Kimorley, winning first week is almost necissary if it gives time for him to come back. If they don't win round 1 I think they are goneskis. bit sad given their on field efforts.
Melbourne have got the goods to do it this year, but I don't see em making the final. Something is not there this year.
Titans are the biggest dark horses in the game. They are definately going to go well. How have they flown under the radar so much this year?
Dragons, depends on keeping momentum now. Also, unlike the Bulldogs, the week off for the Dragons may hurt them as they come into a bit of a winning streak

Broncos are looking good, so long as injuries don't strike as they often could at this time they're in with a good shot.

Don't jinx us now :D

Look, we have the best big game player in the competition (Lockyer) to steer us arount the park. If he plays like he has being playing over the last month and our forwards continue to do their job (they are the key) we will give this a good shake.

Funny, we were written off by all but the true fans not so long ago and now some are talking us up as contenders. Funny game this league.

Yeah, but you've also got wallace you kind of cancels out Lockyer.
Kind of like Melbourne who have finch who cancels out everyone.

A little harsh.

If Wallace serves up some 2008 form, we an even better side. I have no doubt that he will come good in these big games.

Funny you say that...the Dogs losing last night was the absolute best result for the Knights because (on the basis that we beat Penrith) you guys are the easiest path for us through to the second week of the finals. No Kimmorley = game wide open. We beat you at home once already this season, we'll do it again.

Don't take anything for granted...

Meanwhile Melb cruise along winning enough very very quietly.

That's my big concern, along with the Titans.

IMO the winner will most likely come from the Storm or the Dragons.

Titans and Bulldogs next best, but both have a little bit to overcome (Dogs the Kimmorley factor and Titans their Sydney record).

Manly, Broncos and Parra not without a chance at all, but have even more to overcome than the others. Parra could well drop from this list though - it's hard to say how the drubbing last night affected them.

Can't see the Knights/Panthers going beyond the first week.

TBH who would bloody know, more than a 70 point turn around for us within a week. Nothing is certain, grab a seat hold on and enjoy the ride.

Much more open than the past few years, i think last year you could only say this time around that 3 sides could win it (manly, melbourne, sharks), but this year I can definately see the top 6 sides having a go for it.

From here I think Parra may be early exiters, as they will be most likely be coming up against the same side that walloped them last night.

Nah...can't see Storm winning it. They are reliant on Inglis and if he does not fire then they will lose. The forward pack is also missing the likes of Manu and Proctor at the moment and need to step up.

My money is on the Dragons and I hate to say it but the Broncos will be sniffing around as well..

I would say Titans if it wasn't for the fact they can't win in Sydney. Melbourne has been there for 3 years in a row, they could do it again.

Please everyone write us off. Won 7 in a row to make the finals, then had a relatively unimportant game against the favourites who were absolutely busting for a win, and were missing 2 key players (1 of which was our heart and soul). It will be a totally different Parra side next week.
