Haha.. yeah right, we beat them at their own game only a few weeks ago.. parramatta simply didn't play that tight grinding mistake free footy last night.. not sure whether they are capable of it or not, but thats the only way to beat the dragons. Storm and Broncos are the only sides capable of knocking off dragons IMO.

That's because they got bashed by the Dragon's forwards. Inu and Moi Moi were bullied out of the contest.

As an Eagles fan, giving the 3rd placed Titans their biggest hiding of the season on the eve of the finals is very satisfying.

It nearly makes up for their shoddy performance the week before :D

Defence was monstrous. I was beaming when Preston said it felt like he had been hit by a freight train in the post match interviews.

As a dogs fan, I hope Newcastle beat Panthers. I think we've got a better chance of beating them in week one than parra. We need the week off to buy time for Kimorley's return. If he can come back, it's game on again. I don't think we can win without him though.

As for the rest, I think Knights/Panthers are the only ones without a real chance. It's wide open for the rest.

Knights have beaten every team in the top 8 this year except for Parra. They beat the Bulldogs with an understrength line-up. The Knights 1,7, and 9 are also injury free, something you can't underestimate at this time of year.

Really if it wasn't for the Brian Smith fiasco Newcastle would probably already be assured of their finals place, and be more likely to finish around 5th than 7th.

Seriously, in a comp this close EVERY team left has a legitimate chance. Not the same chance, but a legitimate chance nonetheless.

If the rest of the games go to plan will the Tits get the Broncs ??...if they do then the Broncs have a good chance of winning this.

If the panthers win tomorrow the Manly/Melbourne game is going to be very interesting.
I can see Parra and Brisbane beating Dogs and Titans.
One of Manly/Melbourne could be gone in the first week.

Mate you are deadset the most biased guy going around. I read the match thread in the Parra forum this morning and all you could say was 'Hindmarsh was out', 'Growthe was out', 'St George didnt outplay us, we just played crap'. Not once did you give the Dragons any credit for their performance. Seriously man wake up and smell the sh*t coming from your mouth. You guys were completely outclassed last night by a MUCH better team. It will take a HUGE effort to beat us should we meet next week, not just the fact that Hindmarsh is back.

So was last week all down to Souths being a MUCH better team? Take your hand off it and go and have a cry

After the results of last night, I still think this comp is wide open and it is going to be a bloody good finals series.

Not sure about the Dogs now however and the Dragons are no certainty.

Your thoughts ??

Dogs can't do it without Noddy and I'm still not entirely convinced by Saints yet either. Of course I want the Storm to win and I think we're a long shot but my smokey for the title is Parramatta.

I don't think we can beat the Dragons at Kogarah. As an Eels fan i would rather play the Noddy less Bulldogs. I just hope the boys turn up and make a game out of it and we are not smashed whoever we play.

I really don't know what to make of this final round.
3 teams previously out of form seemingly have clicked big time.
3 teams who were in form now aren't.

Or did they simply take the night off.
I think everyone is happy that Manly and Melbourne play each other first up though.
Loser of that match will have a very nervous 24 hours.

Storm are starting to click...Inglis looked dominant last night and the Storm forwards matched it with the big Warriors forwards.

Jeff Lima will be back next week.

Don't get too carried away. You only played the warriors...

I'll be going for Melbourne when they play Manly though. Can't stand their supporters.

Dragons or Manly for mine.

Dragons showed what they're capable of last night while Manly go into the finals as the sleeping giants, if they wake up it's goodbye 09 for the rest of us.

They didnt wake up last night. But they did roll over and scratch their balls. Good signs.

+1. People have been far too quiet about the Storm. A few injuries in the forwards, yes. But Slater + Inglis + Cronk + Smith + finals = scary. They'll go close again, and are my equal top picks with the Dragons for winning it.

Lyon may return for Manly, with King still a few weeks away, we are close to full strength, can’t wait for Friday, just hoping we win, cause if we close, based on results we could exit the finals.

Parra may have been disappointing against the Saints, but have the potential to beat them, I think Newcastle are a big chance against the Dogs, and I would expect the Bronco’s to beat Tits, so if that happens and we loose to the Storm see ya 2009 Manly, hope not
