Comparing Melbourne to the 75 Roosters.....

Indeed rugby league is a national game, the nrl isn’t a national competition though. Until we have nrl representation in at least all the major states the n in nrl is an oxymoron.

I'd add to that...

Netball, Basketball, Soccer all have truly national competitions. Unfortunately Tassie gets the rough end of the stick here - but at least Basketball will take care of that next year.

The NRL is a misnomer...

AFL types give me good natured jibes about it over here, but I remind them that their game is just as fraudulent in title. How can you be a truly national competition when you don't even have a team in the capital city of the country you so claim to be the "national sport" of...??

We already do have representation in the major states and territories. We might get back to the minor ones eventually.

WA and SA are major states, they hold around 20% of the countries population.

theres only 5 big cities on the country, it shouldnt be this hard to have an nrl team in all of them, EVERY other prof. sport has managed it!

You clearly dont know what major means.

In a country with less than ten reasonable sized cities I’d say that Adelaide and Perth would be considered as major!!

You claimed SA and WA were major states. They aren't. Editing your original post after being proven wrong only makes your argument worse.

Of course they are, though I do accept it is a subjective argument given there is no black and white line of what major means. They hold 20% of the population and are way way bigger than the next lot. The fact the nrl is the only professional sporting comp in Australia without clubs in these states is a reflection of the abject failure of the games administration.

I watch the Roosters live in the 74-75 era, not have never seen the Storm. But it has to be said that it is totally unfair to compare both eras.

He's up there, we all carry on a bit when the ref rips our team off but nothing like this bloke
The sodium levels are incredible, especially considering the chooks have been blessed for about a decade now and have won about 9 comps in the past 8 years.
