Configuring Outlook for Gmail

So for about the last 2-3 years I've setup Microsoft Outlook to synch with my Gmail account.

Recently it stops letting me send e-mails, but continues to receive them. I've checked the Gmail guide and all the settings are as it requests, so I'm not sure why it won't let me send. It never let me send when I was on the internet at university (something to do with proxies probably) but I never had the same problem at home.

How do I get sending back?

had issues with IE for years similar to that, uninstalled and reinstalled didn't help

Yeah never had a problem with gmail and mail clients either, though I mainly use Apple mail, iPhone mail, Thunderbird and the Ubuntu mail client. In my experience gmail plays nicely with anything standards-based.

Most ISP's block SMTP traffic on port 25.

Try changing your outgoing mail server port from 25 to 587 or use SSL
