Makes you wonder if a bloke who reached NRL level and managed to play 44 games before leaving considers himself lucky or unlucky . . . has his potential been fully explored/properly nurturedWakefield Trinity have signed hooker Tyler Randell from NRL side Newcastle Knights on a two-year contract from the start of the 2018 season.
The 24-year-old Australian has spent his entire professional career to date at Newcastle, making his debut in 2014.
He has made 44 appearances, five of them coming in 2017.
"His position is one that we identified at the start of the season that we did not have a great deal of depth," said Trinity head coach Chris Chester.
"By bringing in Tyler, it will bring in a genuine competition and add quality to what is already a strong squad."

Been too many of these eventualities over the years . . . pity they don't get page after page of exposureRory Kostjasyn to hang up his boots confirmed

Poor bloke, never a superstar but definitely did his job and busted his ass while he was up north. Cheers for everything rory, at least you'll have a premiership ring to look at. Hopefully the injury doesn't effect him too much from now on. Struggling to breath through a narrowed windpipe while running around with your kids doesn't sound great
Connor Watson has signed a 3 year deal with the Knights just got the members email about it, also up on the website.

THE NRMA Insurance Broncos have signed electrifying centre James Roberts to a long-term deal.
Roberts has signed a four-year agreement that will make him a Bronco until at least the end of the 2021 NRL season.
Roberts joined the Broncos on two-year contract at the start of the 2016 season and has been sensational this year, scoring 13 tries in 17 matches.
Broncos’ chief executive Paul White said securing Roberts was a big moment for the club.
“We are excited that James has agreed to commit to the Broncos for another four years,” said White.
“The club is proud of the support we have shown James, but also the responsibility he has taken on to earn this new contract.
“The long-term nature of the contract is a show of faith by the Broncos in James, but also by James in the Broncos.”
The official figure on the books will no doubt be a bargain - another star who was willing to take 'unders' to play for Uncle Wayne.Really great to have Roberts locked down long term. The rumoured figure sounds like a bargain!

The official figure on the books will no doubt be a bargain - another star who was willing to take 'unders' to play for Uncle Wayne.
But no doubt the Thoroughbreds have had to fork out an extra few hundred k a year off the books.
Again, the fact that the Broncos have made one GF in the last 11 years has to be the biggest underachievement in modern Australian sport.
But no doubt the Thoroughbreds have had to fork out an extra few hundred k a year off the books.
The NRL shouldn't be registering "unders" contracts. It just encourages foul play from clubs who can get away with it. What was he rumoured to be getting?
They snagged Benji last year for apparently minimum wage, after he laughed off a $400k Dragons deal live on TV months earlier.
With the amount of cap fraud the NRL has uncovered over the past 2 decades you think they would be smarter than that.
There are other ongoing costs yet to be determined with Roberts' contract - ie paying off licenced establishments to NOT release CCTV footage of *alleged* atrocities committed while out on the cans plus the massive rugs and brooms required to sweep everything else under.... 4 years of sweeping coming up, that pile is going to be huge!
