The guys probably eating up a fair chunk of Souths cap is the Burgess boys. The media have mentioned that Sam's contract is back ended, due to the contortions tthe Rabbitohs had to go through to fit him in. Add in neither George nor Tom are on at least average money (if not above average) but are playing like scrubs for the most part.

Still, Souths recruitment and retention needs to also be brought into the conversation here. If Angus wasn't a priority then who was????
Well we poached Cherrington, I hear the Roosters are still fuming. We are bringing Ben Lowe out of retirement too I hear

All is good as Souths

Yeah but 9 million cap now. There's a good crop of young fellas there that should not be on a lot atm. Apparently Sutton's wage is nearly covered due to long serving allowance??? Just how much cap money is being tipped into the twins??? It doesn't add up and that's not including the TPA's Souths would have.

Something smells........ big time.

Probably paying an average player like Turner like 400k....

Plus Clark is probs on 350.......

Maybe we are paying like a young guy or 2 who we got on the minimum wage like 300 and odd now....

It doesn't add up.....

Who knows what plodder Mark Nicholls is on..... maybe he's on 250 or something like that......

Who knows......

She was certain Gagai is on 650......

...and that was including TPA. So apparently he's taking only 500/550K out of the cap?

Something does not add up with the South's cap. Fans have every right to be absolutely livid with whatever is going on there.

Souths have a pretty shit roster. Only names I can think of are GI, Gagai and Crichton. How the f**k are they losing one of them?

Just how much are those oversized fumble brothers costing them if they can't compete for Crichton.

Joke of the league - nothing new.

When Souffs are going well, Rugby League is ... a bit confused - it doesn't happen often.

GI
AJ
Gagai
Hunt
Jennings/Graham
Cody
AR
Tom
Cook
Turner
Sam
Fuimaono
Murray

Sutton
Crichton
George
Musgrove

Start Sam in the back row and then bring Angus on next year after 20-25mins allowing Sam to move back to middle...

Next season we have a strong back row and Damien Cook will get better...

Gagai adds strike out wide....

Cody will be more settled at 6 rather than shifting to fullback...

Don't expect finals footy but stranger things have happened...... throw the ball around more and tighten the defence a bit and you never know...

Sorry, I forgot Sam, although he could arguably be part of the 'Fumble Brothers'.

The rest are 'meh'. AJ might make winger at another club but the rest are pretty much back-up quality elsewhere.

If that is Souffs' best line up I think the Knights probably have a better 17. That is seriously crook. I don't even know who some of those merkins are lol

Story is that we could have matched the Roosters offer but backed away because Richo thought it was overs. We offered what we were comfortable paying for potential and the Roosters offer dwarfed it.

If Crichton approaches each season with the same intensity then he should be offered more than whatever Sam is on, he is in the Cordner/Gillett mould.

Story is Crichton doesn't want to play in a sh1t club, he realizes that the Roosters is where his future lies. I would've loved to have seen fat Richo choke on his hot dog when he found out.

The big question here is if? Sam has done it consistently for seasons where as Chrichton has had 3/4 of a good season. How do we know Chrichton will not end up like a Tony Williams/Dave Taylor 1 season wonder then once got a big contract become bog standard average?
