Every club makes signings like that. Someone on FOX(maybe Gasnier) was talking about how clubs manage their salary cap earlier this year and he said most clubs have a rule that they have to have a certain number of guys on minimum wage in their top squad(say 3 or 4) to balance out the top end of the squad and the cap. Sometimes that means signing an Ayshford or Linnet etc

I would hardly compare Ashford and Kane linnett in the same sentence.
I get your point about clubs making low end signings to balance out the top 25.

Sebastine Ikahihfo to Dragons for 2 years

http://www.dragons.com.au/news/2015/09/23/dragons_sign_sebasti.html

The St George Illawarra Dragons announced on Wednesday that Sebastine Ikahihifo has agreed to terms on a two-year contract that will see him join the Club from next season until at least the end of 2017.

Ikahihifo, 24, who can play throughout the forward-pack, is presently contracted to the New Zealand Warriors and has played 39 NRL games to date. The Mangere East junior was part of the Warriors back-to-back National Youth Competition Premiership-winning team (2010-11) as well as a two-time Junior Kiwis representative (2010-11).

“Sebastine is an exciting young forward who boasts attributes including both a powerful running game and is very strong defensively,” said Dragons Director of Recruitment and Retention Peter Mulholland.
“He has been a regular part of the Warriors pack this season and will add valuable depth to the squad next season.” Ikahihifo will join the Dragons in November.

The Tigers have signed yet another back, this time signing Joshua Addo-Carr from the Sharks 20s who actually is probably the best player in that side. Weird.

Eels sign Mitch Cornish on a 1 year deal
Odd signing for both parties. Unless the plan is

1 - Norman
6 - Foran
7 - Cornish
9 - Peats

Not a bad spine, Cornish could certainly do alot worse than playing inside and learning from Foran.

They're the right kind of inspirational players to have around the joint . . . exact opposites of Big Willie
Most of Willie's inspirations probably came from a joint.

Surprised Manly didn't pick him up to be honest, would have scored him on the cheap and he has a tonne of potential. Worst case scenario is he would have played reserve grade, best case DCE has his new halves partner.

They looked at him but dropped off. Has to be a reason.

I'd say Parcell or this other bloke from the Panthers we are rumoured to be signing, Issac John.

Orrrrrrr.......Moltzen
