What about using Robson as a dominant left side half and have Johnson play a Thurston type role?

That would work. While he's lying up injured SJ needs to be watching as many Thurston tapes as he can and have a good look at how he injects himself into the game on both sides of the field. Maybe sit the coach down too and say "hey, look how effective it is having your most talented player attack both sides of the field".

Pops has always had the blinker on when it comes to SJ. Any excuse to mention him will do.

The problem with SJ has been the Warriors structures have kept him set on one side of the field rather than being able to move either side and inject himself when he sees an opportunity. Putting him out to centre would just completely cement him on one side of the field which is completely nonsensical.

As for not having a footy brain, last season and up to when he got injured this season he was one of the leading players for earning repeat sets. Building pressure through our halves has not been our issue, it's always been our inability to convert pressure into points or release pressure with basic handling errors from our bumbling outside backs.

Earning repeat sets and knowing what to do with them are two different things, Johnson is not ingenious enough to play #7, he could get away with playing in the halves if he had Maloney back in the team. I reckon Shaun is about as smart as Steve Renouf was, no worse a defender and probably has a better sidestep . . . about the same size too

Damien Cook -> Souths. Two year deal.

We wrote last week that South Sydney were after Canterbury hooker Damien Cook - and we can now reveal the Rabbitohs have their man. Cook has agreed to terms to a two-year deal to shift to Redfern and will compete with Cameron McIness for the No.9 jersey.
The Bulldogs were keen to keep the 24-year-old and there were also lucrative offers to join the English Super League. However, the opportunity to continue his NRL career at a premiership contender was too good to refuse.
Cook was a relative unknown before stepping in for injured Canterbury rake Michael Lichaa in the lead-up to the finals, but his strong performances caught the eye of Souths coach Michael Maguire. Cook's signing, which is likely to be trumpeted this week, adds to the already healthy rivalry between the 2014 grand finalists.

Rabbitohs Extend Chris Grevsmuhl's Contract & Sign Cameron Murray

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced the signing of two Australian Schoolboys Rugby League talents today, confirming the extension of Chris Grevsmuhl’s contract for a further season, as well as announcing the signing of talented South Sydney junior Cameron Murray until the end of the 2019 season.
The Rabbitohs have enacted an option in Grevsmuhl’s contract which extends the 22-year-old’s contract for a further season, following a quality rookie season in the top grade.

Grevsmuhl, who represented the Australian Schoolboys in 2010, played 22 NRL games following his debut against the Brisbane Broncos in round one this year, represented the Indigenous All Stars, and was a member of the teams to claim the World Club Challenge and Auckland Nines titles before the season began.

Murray, at just 17 years of age, was a standout performer in the South Sydney SG Ball team that went through to the NSWRL under 18s Grand Final in 2015, playing back row and lock.

The Mascot Jets junior was part of the successful Australian Schoolboys side in this year’s series against New Zealand, and captained the Newington College first XV in rugby union in 2015.

Bellamy keeping up the good fight . . . watch and learn Benny

Our spine and majority of the side is still very young, I fail to see what the storm signing players from other clubs has to do with Bennett, who in his first year back turned the Broncos into a title force despite the grand final loss. Maybe Bellamy should be taking notes from Benny still.

Milford was Brisbane's MOM, Bellamy doesn't take players other clubs want to keep, he prefers to take risks with players before they establish themselves as first graders or clean up the dregs others throw away . . . I reckon Parker would say Hook could've got his crew there

Nicholls will be a good signing for the Storm
We really shouldnt have let him go given the state of our front row next year, we've got Vaughan who's a stud, Boyd who is a monster on his day and getting better and not a lot behind them.
