Depends on the cost. Lets say he is gettin $400-450k a season. Thats pretty good for Manly and they have a solid player. Every club has a Ethan in there ranks. We have Salmon at the Bulldogs who is similar.

Not really. It could have been negotiated by either party. Club offers longer to get the $/yr down, player negotiated for increased security.

He is also only 25yrs, so club could be banking on improvement. If he is of high character and has a good work ethics, little risk on manlys part if the money is reasonable. Clubs have a bit more salary cap protection now if freak injuries cause a medical retirement.

I also recall whispers the knights were interested. So they might have offered 3 years, and the 4th year got manly over the line.
