The Roosters first half was all kicking for the wingers and no chasers.
Soward put up about 5 kicks to the wings, but no one hardly chased.
I watched the main game, but had to miss the extra time. Was there an angle that showed the grounding of the ball in the two attempts by the Sharks in the extra time period on TV???????
Desparately unlucky to lose.

Soward was excellent but seemed to be hardly involved. The Raiders sure know how to hold on to talent in the halves

Didn't your club used to have Orford and Kimmorley?? :?

Yeah, Golden Point sucks - especially in Grand Finals.

I was going for the Cronulla, the underdogs - but when it looked like they'd scored in Extra Time I felt sorry for the Roosters. It didn't seem right that a team could go undefeated and then lose in extra time without a right of reply.

As it turned out the Sharks player was held up and Cronulla were the ones to get gipped by the system.

I mean, with 7 minutes to go the Roosters kicked a field goal - Cronulla were able to strike back and kick a field goal of their own.

With a few minutes to go in the first half of extra time the Roosters kicked a field goal - Cronulla missed out on a right of reply.

Congratulations to the Roosters. Going undefeated throughout the year is some achievement, however it doesn't change the fact that there should be 10 minutes extra time each way before we head into sudden death.

Cheers.

I thought it was poor judgement from the Sharks to try and out-drop kick that Soward kid. He was getting close from 45 metres out. The Shark boys were basically grubbering the ball from 40 metres out. They would've been better off running the ball on the last or pushing for better field position or SOMETHING. But still, both teams played well - it was enjoyable to watch, and a good start to the day!
I agree, poor tactics. The five-eighth Porter had a great game (how good was that 40-20) but the only field goal he got was when the Roosters marker got a cramp as he rushed up to charge down the kick. They should have been attacking the left side of the field again where the two tries came from.

Still, a great game by both teams and congratulations to the Roosters. I am very much looking forward to seeing some of the Sharks players come through like the lock Ciraldo, the centre Pelo, and the replacement forward, Douglas. And Souths have a very good buy there in Michael Greenfield.

I thought both were fair calls, despite Burns' good acting. ;-) A lot of other shocking calls in that game, though to both teams.

Sharks were unlucky and i think they were the better side today. I wish they had of beat the Roosters. The Roosters now have the chance to get a clean sweep throughout all 3 grades. :x

And interesting your team can't actually ever generate any talent.

Interesting how false that statement is ;-)

Interesting how close you finished to the wooden spoon. ;)

would have been interresting if Flegg had a video ref

that last sharkies try (almost) was very close, but they only showed one replay from one angle on Nein.

Whats the point of the Roosters having a gun Jersey Flegg team??

With the first grade team just throwing billions around, signing every off contract player in sight, whats the chance any of those players running around today will play 1st grade at the Roosters.

IMO is a selfish display of greed.

Don't be a spoiled sport Earl.

Plenty of those young players will make first grade at Easts.

Many of them are moving on to other clubs to try and get a run in 1sts now.

You can never have enough depth.

Having enough depth is one thing, but what the Roosters have, and conitue to do is another.

All other 14 clubs in the NRL would be drooling over the prospects they have in their JF/PL teams, but not the Roosters, they just continue to buy players from other clubs. Players these other clubs needs.
