Paul Cooke has put his name into the history books by becoming the first player to be cited by the RFL for approaching another club whilst under contract. he faces an inquiry on the 24th September.
Cooke charged over Hull KR move
The Rugby Football League has charged Paul Cooke in connection with his controversial move from Hull FC to Hull KR earlier this season.
Cooke, who signed for Rovers in April, has been accused of making an illegal approach to another club prior to the expiry of his contact.
The RFL cleared Cooke to make the move, but referred allegations of misconduct to its compliance commissioner.
"I knew when I left it could come to this. I'm fine about it," said Cooke.
"My solicitors are on to it, there's nothing more I can say. I'm sure it will all come out eventually."
Cooke's disciplinary hearing will take place on 24 September.
The 26-year-old scored 798 points from 221 appearances in his nine seasons with Hull FC, and scored the late match-winning try for them in the 2005 Challenge Cup final.
He returned to the KC Stadium for the first time on Sunday, kicking five goals in Rovers' emphatic 42-6 win over their bitter rivals, a win which ensured the Robins will be in Super League next season.
Hull FC had initially tried to prevent Cooke from making the move, but the RFL - having originally blocked the player's attempts to change clubs - sanctioned the deal in late April.
Cooke claimed he had never actually signed the three-year deal he had been offered by Hull FC in June 2006 and was therefore a free agent, prompting the club to threaten legal action against him.
Hull FC chief executive James Rules said: "We will await the findings of the RFL tribunal with interest.
"As part of our ongoing legal action concerning Paul Cooke's move to Hull KR, we are not in a position to make any further comment."
Hull KR have always vigorously denied any allegations of wrongdoing on their part.
Meanwhile, both Hull FC and Hull KR have been asked to appear before an RFL tribunal on 17 September after the clubs were charged with failing to control their spectators at the round 19 match at Craven Park on 8 July.
A small number of fans clashed after invading the pitch following the game.

Relegate the red and white scum. Cooke has played in at least four games that the Dobbins won to my knowledge. Salford must be delighted.
