My junior RL clubs were Lithgow Bradbury Lions (Campbelltown NSW) & the Southport Tigers (Gold Coast).

I used to play for Southport Tigers in 2008! I now play for Runaway Bay Seagulls. Not sure how cool of a name this is but we verse the Ormeau Shearers in our comp.

Greg Bird used to play for them in the real NRL - Newcastle Rugby League.

He also played for the West Maitland Red Dogs in the local league.

The whole "real" NRL thing that Newy RL have going on is so facepalm inducing. Because the NRL is just an illusion. Doesn't exist you see.

We started a junior gridiron team like 11 years ago. We wanted the name to be west Sydney lovers....cause we were shut at gridiron lol. But the club wouldn't accept it lol

The whole "real" NRL thing that Newy RL have going is because their comp was called NRL first.
It's a bit tongue in cheek, hoping people will bite.

Isn't there a team in Wollongong called the University Books?
Died a few years back. Pretty sure that was a colloquial name (because of their logo) and they were officialy UOW Rugby league Club.

Played Warilla Gorillas, only team we beat the last year I played. Dapto Canaries was a good one as well.

Must be something about Wests, they're known as 'Red Scum' down here as well
