Copy of Tonights Game (VHS)

Can someone please help me.

Due to my own stuff up, I'm unable to see tonights game against the Roosters. If anyone is recording the game could I please [-o< get a copy. I'm willing to cover all postage costs and return the video if required.

Has anyone ever thought of recording it, and uploading into the computer.
Then we can all share, if someone can record the games then put on the comp I can organise a share program that can allow all members to download and watch.
But it will require some members to upload and share.

BitTorrent if anyone has heard it of. Great way to share.

i've been considering buying a tv tuner card for my pc so i can record shows straight onto my comp...then again, i'd need money to do that

Are all games available for download from NRL.com? I was under the impression that it was only selected games and that this weeks Knights game wasn't going to be available.

You cant download it, only watch it.
Even if you do download it, its very poor quality.

If its the difference between seeing the game in any format or not then I'll just have to take my chances. I haven't missed a game all season and I'm still looking forward to seeing this match regardless of already knowing the score.

Is it the full match or just selected hi-lights?

I've watched quite a few games from the NRL website. They're normally all there from Monday. While the quality is not great it is very much watchable if you keep the video size at 100% or 200%. Just don't try and watch it full screen. Also you'll need broadband and they were suppose to be only making it available to BigPnd subscribers but that was said to be happening months ago so I am unsure what's happening there.

As for Bitorrent, I'd like to see someone put the games up also, however they would take a while to download depending on the size of the file (I'm guessing aroun 500-700mb). If anybody has the means to do this pls let us know and I'll be happy to seed them for a week or so.

I recorded SOOII as I wasnt home and had to go to work.
I set my TV Tuners config to automatically record once it is on.
The total size of the game was 2gigs, mpeg format.
But if you use bittorrent and you download american tv shows, they have 40minute HDTV clips at 350mb.

If only someone could record it and put it on the computer, I'm sure snapper and me would be happy to seed/share.

I could possibly do this, but no guaranteed that it will be able to get them every week, but most weeks will be ok. I can record it onto my dvd hardrive and then transfer them to my computer. But this file with be massive and downloading will be very slow unless we have a large number of seeds and peers

You'll need a very high upload rate.
What internet service you have? ADSL or Cable? and what rate?
One way we can do this is once you've uplaod it on your comp, make a torrent and only allow ONE person to download, maybe me or one of the other members.
Then once we have 2 seeds (me and you) we can start sharing.. this will be much better.
If size exceeds 1.5gigs then forget about it.
But surely I really dont mind.
We could give it a shot though, if it's good we'll continue it on a weekly basis.

I got cable. I'll try to keep the file somewhere at 700 mg, that way it would be much easier to download. One thing i don't understand is how to upload to torrent and make the torrent files

I've got my Sky being re-connected at my new house next Tuesday so it looks like I'm going to miss this weekends game as well. One of the mass disadvantages to living here in NZ is if it ain't Union, then it's highly unlikely to be screened at any sports bars and we don't get much League coverage on the radio either so I'm basically up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
