This video was posted during the week so I thought I would start a thread on Corey.

Corey is only 17 and has had 3 seasons in Matts with Dragons.

He is now training with the Flegg boys and could get some game time later in the year.

He is signed until 2024, the club has high hopes for him. He hits like a axe and they are looking at developing his ball playing skills. He could end up a similar player to JDB.

He is a 13, not sure of weight and height, he is not a tall kid but still growing.

Friend of mine was involved with the Matts a couple of years back, said he was a gun and Dragons had high hopes for him, also mentioned the 1/2 back at the time was good as well name escapes me possibly Quinn, not 100% sure..

Nicholas Quinn. He goes well and the back rower Nicholas Tsougranis has some decent raps on him too. Along with Corey, probably the 3 standouts each week for Saints when they played Matt’s together

I like very much indeed . He has everything going for him , good size , an off- load , a lovely step and that youthful exuberance, he is the complete package .

Cannot wait to see him in another season or two and when he finally gets to the top grade .

Even those big Islander boys were wary of him , when he tackles , the opponents attack is stopped dead in its tracks . Perhaps this video of George’s should be played on a weekly basis to our NRL squad ?

George thanks for the post . looks like the kid can hit hard and its what we need . and as you stated if coaching staff are working on his ball skills then he should be ready by the time he hits reserve grade we need these mobile forwards ( right now would be good) so lets hope our pathways / academy / are looking long term for future teams

Thanks for keeping us across things George.

The club has become so slack with news about what is happening behind the scenes, injury news updates etc - there isn't anything except for pre and post match stuff from Hook and team lists, game highlights. Has the staff in the Media Department been dismissed or something or is it as the saying goes - "No news is good news"?

Well writing them up for all our opposition to know our junior stars will increase the chances of losing them. Too much exposure can also ruin development, remember the televised under 20 comp a couple of years ago .

That's a good point mate, well said. I think I'm just worried given that they seem to be the only hope this club has

True and not showing them on Fox (or free to air for that matter) doesn't help. Still I've been to see some lower grade games live when I can and they play a bit more expansive type of game. That may result in higher scores but for the most part it's really good attacking footy! Even better when they're wearing the mighty Red V!

He sure hits like JDB. Have watched some footage of Corey from this year and he is now a pretty big, solid unit.. and with developing ball skills. Looks a good prospect for us so keep him.
Is he a St George or Steelers junior?

100% with you. You have pay for the priviledge with a TELE online acct to watch these promising kids. They need greater exposure. Fox used to telecast the Under 20 comp. To be honest was baffled why the NRL scrapped that.

I'd be very happy to see the young ones back and shown on Fox. I think part of being a supporter is having something to look forward to, a sense of anticipation and excitement. Similar to each pre-season when we all think it's going to be a better year until the Storm rag doll us and we're back in that dark dark place.

In fact I'm already excited about next season
