When was this video made? In reality, it shouldn't matter, though if it was after the Star incident then it's more of a concern. The fact it was made in the first place shows the contempt some players show for the NRL in general. Great player but at what cost to the Eels and role model for the kids?

We don't even know if he was aware he was being filmed yet... I'm assuming he was, but it's possible he wasn't.

Maybe he didn't know he was being filmed?

If the media didn't report sex tapes then no one outside of the relevant parties would have any idea. If he has been filmed f**king anyone legally and not taking drugs, then there really is nothing to report to the public.

Is it illegal to film yourself having consensual sex?

So...thus far he's been filmed with an apparently consenting adult, while some other chaps did something illegal. And he's been charged with possession of MDMA. Not great, deserving of punishment (the drug charges....if found guilty) but not hanging offences.

He hasn't assaulted anyone, nor got in a car blind drunk (I'd have no problem firing a bloke for either of those).

Bit harsh if he was a passenger

He shouldn't have put himself in a position where he could have been filmed, but I'd put money on it that he did. It's certainly not illegal but not a good look for a public figure either. I would ask this question of anyone here. Would you be happy if you were a star NRL player and have this as part of your profile?

I'd probably wouldn't include it in my profile. Maybe include it in 'hobbies/interests/family snaps' if I was really vain.

I don't get it. Most people are brushing it off as a 'bit of fun,' but I certainly think it's time a line in the sand is drawn on the shenanigans these guys get up to, and more worrying it seems, get away with. This club has been through 10 seasons worth of dramas in 6 months. The Eels 'brand' is looking shonky enough already. But, hey! It's all good, right?

I'd just prefer to 'hasten slowly' on this one. At least get more info on what actually happened, rather than rely on hunches.

I also see quite a moral gap between the stuff Norman is accused of (which isn't great, but he's largely harming himself), and a lot of the other stuff that sports players get up to (and often get lightly treated for) that place others at great risk (hence my earlier comment re driving while off one's face).

Yeah, Barry. I understand, It's just that I am getting truly frustrated as a Eels supporter when every day I wake up there seems to be another calamity in the media surrounding the club in one way, shape or form. I have always been proud to be an Eels supporter but this season takes the cake when it comes to awarding the 'Laughing stock of the NRL ' cup. Others may roll with it, I don't.

There were other people in the room too, that fact hardly gets a mention.

Eels sell more advertising revenue tho
