Example Takairangi - he's wasted at centre, where he isn't involved enough and can't use his ball skills much. But he probably doesn't have the workrate to play 80 minutes in the forwards. Both those statements can be true without a contradiction.

Even if I have a preference it is based on less information than the coach has. So I'm well aware I could be wrong.

I’m talking about players like I mentioned in my post that you quoted. Basically the best players in their position during that time. Jason Smith was an amazing player, one of my all time favourites. Sublime skills and tough as nails. When Tahu left us for Union he was the best centre in the game and our initial best back since our golden generation.

Both of those were years ago... Seriously who are the stars of the day at the moment because i cannot think of one current superstar who isnt playing for their junior club.. excluding players who are at the end of their career like Cronk.
