Corey Norman??

Absolutely. I don't how you couldn't be excited with this side?

Take Norman, Hunt and Widdop as individuals and they would be the marquis playmakers in most other sides. And we have 3 of them in our backline!

Usually its the Roosters pulling off something like that.
Yeah, but alas you don’t have Chad Townsend

Ive been running our backline through my head since Norman has signed and for the life of me cant seem to get a balance. Its a weird signing for this year although i am sure its looking at the future for when Widdop leaves at the end of the year.
So here we are with 3 halves worth around 1 Mill each for 2019 lol.
To me balance is everything and the best balance i cant come up with is....

1. Widdop
2. Lomax
3, Aitken
4. Lafai
5. Pereira/Pearson
6. Norman
7. Hunt

14. Dufty

Lomax is a bigger body and i know he is a centre but we do need a bigger body out there for defence and kick returns and can get some more first grade experience while he waits for our current centres contracts to expire.

I am not that big of a fan of Pereira's skill set although he gives his all i just dont think he has any X factor but he is pretty good with kick returns and will get better in the air, But is that enough? I would like to see Pearson step up and with his speed can definitely have that X factor.

I think Mcwhateva will go with Aitken and Lafai for sure till his hand is forced.

Having Hunt, Widdop and now Norman in the side gives us some crazy options when you think about it but throws out the balance. Maybe it will be a masterstroke but also maybe there's too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Time will tell.

All that said i do also like nonetime111's back 7 for the pure attcking X factor.

I don't agree with your team but it's a solid summary.

Honestly, I think that we are in a situation where we are going to try to guess Mary's mind all off season, but won't know anything for sure until round 1.

Not trying to be picky but we dont have three halves each on a million a year for 2019. Hunt and Widdop are under a million and Norman is on $500K. In fact Norman averages out over the three years to $700K per year, this is an absolute bargain.

We wanted speed and Pearson and Ravalawa have been recruited, they are fast and physical with good size. They were one step below some of the very best wingers in the game and couldn't get a run because of this. They are young, seem like the sort of players we should be targeting.

We picked up two young props with big wraps, Timms and Blacker to go with Lawrie and Kerr. They have size and are just getting to the stage where they may be ready for some first grade experience. Even if we only get one of them to develop and move the others on and replace them accordingly, we will have done well.

We have a couple of depth signings/resignings in Latimore (and wasnt it lucky we had him this year), Allgood and Maranta.

We have some juniors who look promising including Robson, Sailor, Lovodua and Marsters.

We have maintained a forward pack which sits somewhere in the top four in the comp. It looks like we are trying to strengthen the fullback position. I think recruitment have done pretty well, now lets wait and see what the coach does with it.

I can see Dufty as a gun winger now, for the odd try he might let in or the odd ragdolling he might get hell score many more tries and cut sick in broken play, he is a finisher also can damn well find his way to the tryline AND score length of the field tries..... he could sniff around Nirman all day for offloads team like this:

Widdop
Dufty
Lomax
Lafai
Pearson
Norman
Hunt

I'd be happy with that line-up

I wonder if our coach will have enough common decency to not leave us in the dark and let us know where he intends to play Norman, Widdop and Dufty. You watch, we will be the last ones to know.
I'll tell you, In the starting side Guaranteed.
If anyone thinks you spend that much on a bench player like I've read, they're dreaming.

DCE, Munster, Morgan, Johnson. Maloney?, Widdop, I dont think Cleary is at their level yet but he is a competitor
I think Norman is a better game manager halfback than any of the ones you mentioned. The ones you mentioned all have better running games than Norman, but I think they are all better suited to 5/8.

100% agree . Norman hasn't been signed to come off the bench or play fullback . He is the best game organiser we have and has the best kicking game by a way .
Hunt is at his best when he runs the ball and plays direct .Norman will take a heap of pressure off him . Widdop at fullback can pick and choose when he injects himself and not have to worry about kicking or trying to organise the play . Personally I think Widdop will kill it at fullback .
The McInnes/Robson rotation is ideal . McInnes can do his normal million tackles then bring young Robson on around the 25 min mark and add that attacking spark he has .
That is a high class spine and if we can come up with a game plan to utilise the strengths of the players in the spine we should do well .
My biggest concern is I think we are still one class winger short .

Well said.
Let hope we can get someone like Pearson to step up.

We would need to score 40 points a game with the above players playing were you would put them.
Our attack would be great .
Our d would be bad.
Bullshit we would have to score 40 points a game with the players I selected. Hunt could be selected as Qld's starting halfback. Besides Hunt to hooker, who else do you think would weaken our side's defence as you suggested it would?

Absolutely agree with Duffy to bench ( as I have mentioned previously ) for next season .
Allow Norman the opportunity of securing the No.1 position with Duff running on in the last 15 minutes of each half to cause bedlam to a tiring opposition defense.

Whilst Duffy is at No.1 ( in the final 15 ) is it possible for Norman to also play outside Widdop at that time ? Would our attack then become even more potent ?

I am sure that the same thoughts are going through the maestro’s mind even now (?)
One thing I am positive about is that we shall know the answers to these burning questions next season , hopefully early on .
