I have heard a rumour (from a political source) that Mr Iemma will be attending the Knights game on Sunday. Now call me a cynic if you like but my brain says (hopes) this... 1 week before a state election, Premiers attending big public event, ALP under immense pressure in the seat of Newcastle....smells like a big announcement to me. If this is the case I would back an announcement something like "The State govt will fund the re-development of the western grandstand, something the Feds said they would do but pulled out of". I am happy to classify this as wishful thinking BUT If it did come off how good would it be.;-)

John Tate flagged this in the media earlier in the week or late last week and tried to take the credit for the pending announcement. Personally I don't think that it will make much difference to the voting one way or the other.

Indeed, between costas slurred speech, the heart breaking loss and joey and abes serious injuries that was one of the worst days in Knights history.
