Presuming Cayless plays prop, what is the advantage of playing Cayless, Robinson, Vella and Stringer is short bursts? Cayless, Robinson and Stringer strength lies in workrate. Theres just no point in having them play short bursts.

True but with the workrate being supplied at the back why not use fresh legs to take you forward up the field? Stringer and Vella in particular would be most effective in fifteen minutes stints and they would still play 50 minutes at the worst which is about normal for your front row. As has been said - playing 80 minutes is one thing, being effective for that whole 80 is another. Same goes for 50 or 60 minutes.

That's why I'd play Cayless in the second row and Stringer up front with Robinson off the bench. Then you can have Widders / Mateo to come on for Cayless as impact players.
