Count down to Wollongong: the Poms (and French) are coming

There was some drop ball but the game was entertaining. Dropped off a bit in the final 20.
Claiming it was disappointing is typical Australian arrogance. Rounds 1 and 2 of the NRL will throw up much much worse.

As has been said, the atmosphere from the travelling English fans shits all over anything Wollongong has seen from the Dragons Army ever.

Don't bother mate.
Some people around here cannot handle ANY constructive criticism of the NRL.
I've been to A-League games that shit all over S.O.O. for atmosphere.
As you say, it's all part of the package.
I haven’t heard much constructive criticism here yet.

One thing I love in the super league that I wish was in the NRL is the free play rule. Such a great rule and needs to be brought into the NRL immediately

I never attend matches purely for the game. I attend for the whole package. If last night is any indication, SL beats NRL every time and SL should bring rugby league to the world and not the NRL.

You must love Australian idol. Singing galore.

Yeh but then your friends know you went to an a league game. Better off going to aflw if you want to maintain some level of social standing.

I was at the game last night.

I’ve been to 100s of NRL games and that SL game had a better atmosphere than every one of those NRL matches. The Hull fans could really make some noise.

In fact it had a better atmosphere than any match, in any sport, I’ve ever been to in Australia involving Australian clubs. It was great fun.
Just as well it had atmosphere - 'cos it was shite football.

Wigan will flog Souffs next week and Hull probably won't have much trouble with Saints either.
If all 4 teams go into this at full strength and take it serious, Hull will probably get 40 put on them, Wigan will probably be better but I would still expect the Rabbitohs to win by 13+

The atmosphere at all the games I’ve been to have been great.

And wouldn’t most people at that game have been aussies.

What NRL games have you been to that have had great atmospheres?
Remove the 2 grand finals I’ve been to and I could probably count on one hand the great atsmospheres. It doesn’t help games are played in stadiums not even a quarter full mind.

Storm vs Broncos at Suncorp stadium is always good, especially when it’s a close game like when I went. And another was Broncos vs Titans at Suncorp

The World Cup final at Suncorp was f**king dire, could have heard a coin drop in there most of the time. So much for the famed Queensland atmosphere.

Ok maybe Suncorp is good I’ve never been. Been to pretty much everywhere in Sydney and it’s dire for the most part.
Best atmosphere I’ve been to in Australia was the pacific test last year, a great day from start to finish.

Anyway, I had a great time. Hope they do it again, February is a great time to bring RL events to Australia given our empty calendar and the fact that they've already started in SL.

I am looking forward to seeing how wrong your predictions are.
My predictions are a lot more likely then yours. I’m still prepared to go the wager with you. Wigan win then I’ll leave for good, but if the Rabbitohs win then you leave for good. What do you say Albert?
