Couple of Critical points.......

Very happy to get the points today. Considering our record at Brooky and Home Town Tim etc. But a couple of things.........

I haven't said a lot in the past but feel now well in to the comp a few things that are causing us major grief.

1. Goalkicking, obvoius and brought up lots of times but......today each miss had major pshycological effect on the game in terms of strength of lead. Allowed Manly back in game.

2. Simmons method of holding the ball when he runs. Tuck the pill in son!

3. Merrit, good skills, fast, reasonable positioning. Coach instructions should be GET INVOLVED, WANT THE F#@$@!#%N' BALL.

4. Fitness, fitness and fitness. I think we are running out of petrol. I went to the Gosford trial and thought it was evident then. I think it still is.

5. Patience, I know we have a youthful squad but a few plays today cost us big time.

Thanks, and now I'll step down off the soapbox.

Sully looking at Kimmorley who wants the drop goal then runs himself and throws it out was shocking

Hazem would be a terrific addition to our side. In Noddy's defence all of his misses were tough kicks and he did nail one from the sideline which ultimately won us the game.

Agree with you Chest Pain about Simmonds running with the ball in one hand - disaster waiting to happen. Those big islanders can get away with it because they have hands the size of baseball gloves, but Simmonds doesn't look to have inherited too many of those genes. Tuck it under your bloody arm.

Definitely need to work on our fitness too. An area that has let us down since the start of Andersons tyranny.

I think Angry's saying what positions the guys should play for 80 mins.
The 1,6,7 and 9 are in a lot of people's eyes the positions that matter most.

Ill jump on the El Masri band wagon and say we should go after him. We should have won that game comfortably today but goalkicking almost cost us in the end. Unless another person eg Merritt or whoever shows they can kick goals we should go after him.

Merritt was another performed improver today. He like Vagana is starting to see more ball as we aim our attack down the right hand side more. He also went looking for more action. I hope he continues to improve.

I think letting Manly back into the game is more of a mental problem than fitness problem. We let Manly back in only to kick away again, same applies to Melbourne, same applies to Canberra when they closed the gap on us and also Manly again when we played them in the first round. We seem to switch off once we get a decent lead, and have shocking 10minute peroids in games where teams can put points on us.

Paitence is a well bought up point. We seemed to make a concious effort to offload more today and while there were some good offloads this could have cost us. A happy median should be aimed for next week in regards to when we choose to offload and make things happen.

What do you reckon is the JOKEOF THE LEAGUE SS?

I think we really need to work on our defence over the next week. If we can keep Souths to very few points then we will beat them easily. We can't tackle like that against the Broncos or we'll get done by 100. Then we will be the JOKE OF THE LEAGUE. ;-)
