Can someone please explain to me why Covell wasn't allowed to kick this year?

Because he has been kicking like crap compared to what he did last year and Hodgson had a higher average than Covell

The kid kicked at over 80% last season and was being talked up by everyone.

And deservered to be talked up last year this year he has done nothing!!!!

This year our 'supercoach' doesn't even let him have a shot at goal - why?

Because Hodgson is kicking better than him as simple as that get over it

Can someone please explain to me the point of home growing junior talent all the way through the grades, then letting these talented juniors go whilst signing retired players (moodie)?

That isn't a recruitment strategy - its a bloody farce.

You should change that not to Talanted Juniors but to Covell

Harrison, Gibbs, Halatua, Lima, Collis, Fulton have all had a run and have all been resigned for next year and the years after not to of course mention the players still running around in PL and JF who have been resigned till the end of 2006 at least

Its not a farce its called making tough decisions and well I think Sheens could have this one right!

How fast is El Masri?

How fast was Halligan?

If you look at all the top sides, they have one thing in common - a top notch goal kicker - El Masri, Fitzgibbon, Devere etc.

It's one of the reasons they go so well - they can win the tight ones.

Hogdson has been kicking well this year - so far. But this is about as good as he can go. Covell is a class 1 kicker.

I wonder if the Bulldogs had a choice over Covell or El Masri which one let alone any club would choose   It really wouldn't even require thinking time

Covell last year was a Class 1 kicker this year he hasn't been as simple as that - I agree Hodgson won't get much better but in saying that Covell really hasn't shown this year why he should be selected into the top grade squad just on his kicking abillity - if he did I'm sure we wouldn't even be having this discussion ;-)

While they may have both scored the same number of goals, I wonder which one has saved more tries, made more linebreaks, excited the crowds blah, blah, blah.

Yeh, Covell looked as though he was the goods last year when we were struggling to tie our shoelaces but now we're struggling to do up our zippers he is not quite good enough.
