Craig Smith a Kiwi again?

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about Craig Smith possibly being included in the Kiwi team for the ANZAC test. I personally can't see it, unless he came off the bench, as Wiki has one spot sewn up and the other one will probably go to Asotasi. Although I'm sure he'd do alright if given the chance.

He might've even retired from rep footy I'm not sure, do you guys think he'd manage test footy?

Do I want him to play...no. But I'm selfish, I don't want Joey, Bedsy or Simmo to play either but they'll all get picked.

But seriously Craig Smith is like 36, surely the kiwis have younger props who can do the job and build for the tri-series???

depends if they pick a young team, if they pick alot of young guys it would be good to have him around as a steadying influence also Cayless and Rauhihi would've been shoe ins and they're in england, not sure if they're coming back for the 1 off game.

I'm all for it. He deserves it with the way he has been playing since we gave him the SOS last year. And to think this guy was going to put up his boots and rest down for retirement.

I thought he turned down the opportunity to be included in the squad last year. I'd love to see him play cos he's been so loyal to the Knights since he came and deserves at least the offer to play.

I'd be surprised if the English clubs release their Kiwi players for the one off test which is probably part of the reason Craig Smith's name has come up in the selection.

Smithy is playing as well, if not better than he was pre-retirement and would be deserving of selection.

Although can you imagine what rabble the Knights team is going to look like if we have the following players missing;

2 - Carney
3 -
4 - Carmont
5 - Quinn
6 - Kidley
7 -
8 -
9 -
10 - (Perry out on suspension during this time)
11 -
12 - Newton
13 - Tanner

On the form he's shown this year I think Matt Gidley could see some rep action although to enhance my argument I've deliberatley left him out of this team ;-)

Good thing the ANZAC players don't have to miss a club game like Origin players do

If a team plays on Friday night in the week before the test in the UK the player will be released, otherwise nup. Which leaves pretty much Henry Paul as the one player that might come over.

Bloody UK clubs running the international game again.

I reckon Simmo will get a spot. Sticky picked him for Origin last year, recognising him as the shining light in the otherwise dismal Knights team, and Simmo has done nothing to disappoint this year, so he will be there.

I was reading the paper yesterday and i was surprised that they didn't think he was good enough for selection. If he isn't selected i will be extremely disappointed, also given the fact that in Origin last year he excelled playing out of position.
