No Coote, Turtle is still in. I hope Elliott is playing Ducks & Drakes. Cant post the whole team but it will be public anyway in an hour or so.

Yeah prob is Coote needs clerance after full contact so prob can be a late inclusion. I will find the email so I can remember our pack and bench I have gone blank

It has to be a gee up, we seriously cant go with 1-17 as listed. You would have to think a few numbers between 18-21 will make an appearance.

Re read the team list, the numbers are out of order. If Coote comes in for Purtell I could live with the rest of the 17.

And the powers that be wonder why we have such a small membership
Elliott buying players the calibre of Purtell and then refusing to drop them even though they aren't up to 1st grade standard

I myself for many years went to every home game but I haven't been to a game for at least 3 years due to a complete lack of confidence in our coaching staff, very disappointing to hear Purtell is still in the side

Yeah I ehard Coote needs to pass fitness before he will be named but he is likely. I still doubt Turtle will be dropped, though even if he is trying to be a nice guy to Purts he should be able to justify keeping him out for one week at least as its our last chance, we are missing two great backrowers and we need to have our best possible backs.

Still not confident.

if coyte plays then purtell will be dropped according to mat elliot.
coyte has final fitness test friday and if he passes he will be a late inclusion.
and coyte said he is almost 100% sure he will pass and play.

If Coote comes in and replaces Adrian Purtell it will be a great backline and strong forward pack, especially considering who is missing. The only issues I would have are over the starting halves and utility.

For mine Wade Graham should be starting at halfback with Masada Iosefa on the bench. Luke Walsh is the most overrated player at the club IMO. He can't tackle and outside of his kicking game offers very little - even then it's his teammates that make his kicking game look great.

I assume Laurie/Puletua 1 is on the bench 1 is on standby for Grant. Same with Graham/Masada only IF Graham plays he needs to start with Burns off the bench

I'll agree the roosters don't have much without Carney, but I don't think we can shut him down, got to outscore him. With Walsh at halfback it will probably come down to luck with our kicks.

C'mon Guys,

Be positive; there is no question in my mind that you cannot beat the Roosters. In fact, I believe you will win by a small margin.

Good luck to you guys and hopefully we will meet in the GF.

Any news on who will actually be on the bench?

Surely we cant have 3 front rowers there? Is it possible that Graham will be playing back-row with 2 props and Iosefa off the bench?? Elliot can't name Grant, Puletua and Bell all on the bench can he??

Bell used to play back row to start with, I see him as a prop/2nd rower. Frank Puletua used to also play either prop or 2nd row though these days age has caught up.

Now a comment on the team. Smith, Cooper, Lewis is a WEAK, piss weak second row, Elliot playing favourites again. Those two (Smith, Cooper) couldn't break a line to save their lives (Ok Smith has a few easy ones against weak teams when given some of space). Traditionally Panther's teams of the 2000's have had damaging fringe runners, these blokes barely damage the blades of grass they tread on.

With Walsh playing with his dinner suit on the talentless little p?*sy he is, I don't give us much of a hope.

Biggest problem in the match up against the Roosters is the inequality between the play makers. Pearce, Carney are 100x> Walsh, Burns. In fact Pearce or Carney + gumby off the street 3x> Walsh + Burns.

This has been our Achilles heel since Elliot came to the club - our halves. He either stiffled talent and/or misplaced it (Sammut and to a degree Graham) or replaced them with talentless drones (Walsh, Burns).

What has made up for it this year is that our highly talented backrow has been helped by the boost given by our normally mediocre front row. Without Grant / McKendry stepping up we'd have barely made the 8 if at all.

Now our backrow is gumby quality (sorry Lewis no offence to you). However in relation to 3 prop rotation, Smith and Cooper as ineffective attackers that they are, are close to 80 minute players - meaning we can just rotate through our props.

I agree with this except I'd rather see Burns in the side in front of Smith and Cooper, because he at least adds some niggle in defence and is quick enough to get through a hole. Smith and Cooper haven't broken a tackle or made a dominant tackle in their careers between them.
