How do I know if ive over or under oiled it. I put a bit of oil on a peice of cloth and rub it into the bat until its spread over the bat. Once is soaks in I put another coat on. is that about right?

Also, after I get this skin on the bat, should it stay there for the entire life of the bat and only oil the back from then on?

I put oil on my hand and then run it over the back of the bat. Oiling twice may be a bit over the top.give it a reasonalble coating of oil, at a guess I would say about 10 drops of oil, but that is only a rough guess. The sleave should stay on for the life of the bat and yes, you should only oil the back. You should oil the toe as well, but obviously you dont need too if you have bought a toe protector.
