I dont know if its just me but since 7 started doing it, it went downhill. Plus the scheduling of matches doesnt help when half the Aussies and some of the contenders are overseas for some meaningless t20 or ODI series.

If they bring back the awards night, have the mens and womens seperate and get Gilly and Isha to host it.

I think its a cost cutting thing, didnt they lose money last summer when india were here??
Wouldn't be cheap staging it..

We go to Pakistan for white ball series late January
They can do it right after the ashes
So to Monday Jan 19th is another option, before the bbl finals

Dont think the women have anything on in this time

Why wasn't this organised when the summer fixtures went out.

Like honestly whose running CA they couldnt have the awards night booked in once the domestic/international home summer schedule was finalised.

You been in to CNSW or CA offices lately? Ghost towns with all the cutbacks.

GG to the Lyon.

What an amazing career. Well beyond what any of us envisioned.

Murphy for the Afghanistan test please.

😥

its quite serious

They are hoping he is out of this induced coma in a few days

Wishing he pulls through and a full recovery, he is only 54

Warne, Symonds. Losing too many guys way too young. Hope he pulls through.

Hard to find a better batsman to watch than Damien Martyn.

Yup

Him and Mark Waugh were lovely and fluent batsman to watch

Thought he was very under rated . Very very good test record
plus a brilliant ODI one..

Awful news, when in form there were few better to watch. Was absolutely pivotal to our BGT win in India back in 2005, including the third test when he was 3 runs off dual centuries.

Was massive on the sub-continent.

Loved his work in ODIs as well. If the outfield was fast and Martyn was in you'd be treated to some amazing drives that would just rocket to the fence. He opened sometimes as well and looked terrific there.

Hard to pick between Junior and Martyn IMO. I'd want both in the team.

Wonderful ODI bat. Good in the field and bowled a bit too.

230 run partnership in the 2003 World Cup final with punter. Off 30 overs back when 300 was an unbeatable total

Happy NY.

Yes amazing innings. I saw some bits of it but the 03 WC in South Africa wasn't the friendliest as a time format. Loved watching Punter bat, my favourite cricketer of all time.

My memory from that WC was the two beamers from Waqar Younis. Symonds announced himself in that innings. We were well down on wickets and he rescued the innings and the match.
