Dhoni the finisher rescues Chennai Super Kings in last-ball thriller

View attachment 60542

Butter-fingered Chennai Super Kings dropped at least four catches, including two by their captain Ravindra Jadeja, and MS Dhoni fluffed a stumping chance, but Dhoni produced a vintage display with the bat to hand Mumbai Indians their seventh defeat in as many games this IPL.

With Super Kings needing 16 off the last four balls, Dhoni went 6,4,2,4 and aced his match-up against Jaydev Unadkat once again.

It was Dwaine Pretorius, picked in place of Chris Jordan, who set the scene for Dhoni's trademark finish by clattering 22 off 14 balls, 12 of which were scored off Jasprit Bumrah, who left Unadkat with 16 to defend off the final over.

Looks like Langer out of the running to coach Poms.

Gary Kirsten has been approached to become England’s Test coach, according to theUK Telegraph.

What’s more, former Australian coach Justin Langer will not coach England in any capacity.

His former Australian teammate, Simon Katich, however remains in the running, with new director of cricket Rob Key already confirming the role will be split between red and white-ball cricket.

Langer was reportedly looked past because of England’s desire to split the role, but also over a fear that he and Ben Stokes, who is set to be appointed as captain, would not click.

While many believed Joe Root needed a stronger coach around him, Stokes is widely considered a leader of men in cricket circles.

“Langer is no longer a candidate partly because England want to split the coaching roles and reservations over whether he would work well with Ben Stokes, who is set to be appointed Test captain,” The Telegraph’s Nick Hoult writes.

Haha pretty funny actually.

Where are all the ex players now after the carry on when he got the flick from the Aussie gig.

Haven't heard a peep.

Big shock to someone apparently, but Chris Lynn and the Heat have parted ways.

Lynn to Thunder with good buddy cutting?
Renegades with Finchy?
Wadey and Lynnsanity at the Hurricanes?
Who knows exciting for someone though!

Lynnsanity , The Big Rig and the Big Show is my tip

Just wow 🙌👌✋
