Cronulla Sharks Training

Was reading this article on Michael Lichaa and thought this part of it would interest you fine folks

Lichaa shed five kilograms in the off-season as he battled through the vigour of a Hasler pre-season. "I [knew] I had to have a big pre-season," Lichaa said. "Last year we didn't train too much with everything that was happening at Cronulla. I knew I had to get my body right. We weren't too fit. I knew I was in for a big shock. [About] five, six seven times more running than I did last year. It's a lot harder. The first few weeks were a big shock. I was ready for it but I have never felt [pain] like I did in some of those sessions. Even skill drill is 100 per cent intensity."

he also said that des was the best coach he's ever worked with.

given that he worked with supercoach and the guy that didnt want the job..and james shepherd..

hardly a suprise.

If Des was my coach and it was my 3rd week in first grade I'd be saying the same thing.

in fact what else did anyone expect him to say?

"Yeah , nah ...pre season was a piece of piss ....and Des seems like a bit of a tool "?

Who cares what he says. Our problems last year were pretty obvious. We came last and played like we hardly trained. There were a thousand reasons for that.

He's a big headed idiot. Prances around Cronulla like he owns the place.

Hard to disagree with what he's saying but the guy is still blowing out of his arse after 5 minutes so he cant be training to hard.

Imagine Stapleton.

Sitting in a session listening to Robinson.

Would be like coming from Special school to Sydney Grammar.

Stapleton, That bloke must have an allergy to football jerseys. He looks more and more swollen every time he puts one on!

Remember when he first started attracting attention on this forum, everyone said he was too small.

SMH must be doing a weekly Lichaa piece. This was from last week, their Goth Leader didn't miss...

"He was just coming to us from Cronulla, so it was tremendously different to what he has been used to in the past," Castle said. "He just took it day by day. For young athletes, sometimes it takes time to get used to that culture adjustment, but I didn't have any particular concerns with Michael. He had never been in an environment as professional and as intense as it is at the Bulldogs. He'd never trained a pre-season as hard as he did at the Bulldogs this year. He knows what level he has to get to and what he has to do to be an NRL player under Des Hasler."

Sort of pisses me off that she's having a dig at us but unfortunately she's not wrong....

Hard to argue that we don't need to improve on training and fitness though... I even heard that the games are going for 80mins now? :sarcasm:

I reckon Prior has been very hard done by. The rest of the favourites in the forward pack have been puss except Heighno.
I only remember one error from prior and that was from an unexpected Gallen miracle ball to his bootlaces.

Agree. His 9s and Trial form merited him being given field time if picked. If 10 minutes only don't pick him.
