This year the crowd averages are on par for best since 1999.
Over 17 thousand so far.
Lets keep it up! Im interested if anyone can post the other teams. We should be at the top for Sydney teams. :)

Thanks Captain, good work, though I have a major problem with this:
Sydney crowd averages:
...
Dragons: 12575

They havent played a home game in Sydney yet and embarrassingly, will not do so until Round 10. Put simply, the Dragons are no longer a Sydney team.

If we keep winning our average should climb. Sludge must be getting nervous about the decision to hold the warriors game in perth citing his inablilty to draw decent crowds to 12 home games. If the warriors lift their act we could have been looking at a capacity crowd at shark park. We will never know as we are playing the game in a afl/super 14 town where league is dead and buried. Good one sludge. Tossing away our home ground advantage.

Please don't try and tell me about spreading the gospel to the sandgropers. They don't give a f**k.

Nah, but the massive cash incentive by the WA Government might have a fair bit to do with it. Plus gate takings.

How much is 'massive' Richo?

Gate takings? A 20,000 crowd at Shark Park would be a decent gate. Not to mention all the money spent on pokie machines. I had a little flutter on Saturday night. The pokies were getting a big workout to the point it was hard to find a vacant machine.

Anyway priority number one should be two points, not some dodgy deal.

Not only have the crowds been great, but the atmosphere is back...

During the latter half of the anderson era, and even for most of last year there was no buzz whatsoever around the ground...

some nights you would even feel like a dikhead just for yelling "Go sharks" ....or singing up up cronulla at the end of the game....

even though the band is the worst band in the history of the world, i still reckon its great forward thinking from the marketing men(where the f**k have they been for the past few years) .....we're finally getting that carny atmosphere back that was rife during the mid 90's

Well if anyone bothered to turn up to the Warriors game last year maybe we would have kept it. (Although parking was great that night)

I've heard it's mid range 6 figures.

The crowd in Perth will be around 17,000. Much the same as at Shark Park.

The problems are the loss of a 'home' atmosphere, and Leagues Club takings. And I do agree that the 2 points should be the main focus.

Oh well, best way to combat the lost leagues club earnings is to get a group of mates and get down there to watch the game.

Cronulla will have the advantage in Perth, the time difference alone will probably f**k up the Kiwis.

Oh well. As the time for this game draws close I am certain it will become clearer whether it was a good decision to play in Perth. Case adjourned for several weeks.

we will maek much more by being in perth. no secority costs, no hot dgos and pies ansd sausieg rolls to buy, no slave labour bar staff to pay etc

in other words even a 10,000 gate takin in perth would yeild more than a 20,000 gate taking as the perth govt is picking up all the costs

even if i agree th 2 points is the priority we haven't lost themn yet so worry about that as a critical point if and after we lose i reckon

the money from the perth govt + the gate taking can be enough to pay for one superstar - that's the rub

. . . . . plus I get a trip to Perth. Can we get Phuket to pay us to play over there next year?
