Some very average efforts this weekend

Not holding much hope for a large attendance with Manly and Melbourne getting home semis in week 3

Kinda sucks that Brisbane V Warriors didn't get 50k. I can't imagine a club getting over 50k 3 weeks in a row has happened before (helps that 3 home games in a row doesn't happen often).

Game V Dragons should do well since like the Warriors the Dragons are well supported in SEQLD.

While 2 of the games were pretty average, remember that it was still a record for week 1 finals.

50k for the suncorp game and 30-35k for the sfs would be on par IMO

Def a huge crowd at Suncorp this weekend. This one is finally Lockyers last game at home, and v the Dragons. Sell out for sure. Ive got at least one or two extras coming that didnt come last sat v NZ.

I think after this week, Im in favour of using the older final 8 system purely so it can help sell some extra tickets. Figure if people know when their team will play if they win, they might be willing to buy tickets in advanced a bit more.

Suncorp should get 50k this week, definitely Lockyer's last home game will see it sell out.

SFS is a wild card, could get as low as 22k but may crack 30k, doubt it will crack 35k, but should be high 20s at the very worst (then again, Manly and Melbourne should have gotten 17k at the very worst but didn't).

The NRL needs St George alive in week 3 to have any kind of respectable crowds. Manly v Brisbane wouldn't be too crash hot and as for the other game??

Well nobody in Melbourne gives a shit about the Storm, especially if there's going to be a big AFL match on. I highly doubt many Tigers fans would bother travelling down, they don't appear to be that dedicated and I dare say a lot of the Warriors fans will have other engagements back home due to the RWC.

I'd go as far as to say that for the finals series to have any credibility St George needs to win the grand final. Simple.

BTW The Tigers are consistently among the highest-drawing Sydney clubs. Our fan base is reasonably dedicated.

Manly V Dragons at ANZ... 60 to 65K
Manly V Broncos a sellout at the SFS 45K ... every Qlder in Sydney will attend , Manly will demand their fans turn up this time ... & they will... plenty of neutrals too as it could be Lockyers last game of football played

Melbourne V Tigers at Etihad .... 35K , plenty of tigers fans will make the trip down , no AFL on across the road here like AAMI

Melbourne V Warriors .... 40K ..add an extra 5K Kiwis

I'd have to agree with your first point lol

Fair enough, the tigers do great for home games, going interstate is a different story but!
