What a great achievement for the Cru's under 15, 16 & 18's all winning on the weekend, these kids have obviously grown up playing Rugby Union and are new to our game.

With these kids coming through and the new North Wales under 18's playing in the National tournament there should be a steady supply of Welsh talent coming through feeding into the Scorpions and Crusaders first team in the near future. It's great news.

All very encouraging, but it's no good if England simply cream off the very top talent, ala the Evans twins.

The bad news is the new Welsh pro bid is CPC Bears from Carmarthen. Seems pretty stupid because Carmarthen's a tiny town of 15000 people in a rural area and finished bottom of the Welsh Premier last year. They lost every game the opposition turned up to, only once keeping the opposition to within 60 points, and couldn't raise a team one week. Also last year they had 5 clubs enter the leagues from Carmarthenshire and 4 of them didn't even have enough players for a 9-a-side team, so they had to all merge into one club!

In short I'd love another Welsh semi-pro club but not this one.

The Cru u/18 went down narrowly to Widnes, the Vikings had a very strong lineup with a couple of players who have played first team so going down by four points was respectable.

crusaders did well to peg it back to within a score to a team that smashed the bradford bulls last week
