I looked up the fastest route to penrith on whereis and it said take the M5 and M7. I reckon thats the go as we miss all the traffic getting to the M4.

But I guess the driver will know more than me.

The M5 indoodlydee does join the M7, before carrying on it's way towards Canberra

Then the M4 turns into the Great Western hwy before heading to penrith...which also has a connection from the M7...
