Went and had a look at the top 8 stats teams currently there, done some work for you buzz.

On average teams have played 7-8 games against each other, Canberra least softest draw with 6, Souths hardest with 9.
Origin always effects some of the data, i have put win v loss and average points for and against

format team win vs loss, points vs ponts against

Penrith 5-3, 23 vs 12
Brisbane 4-4, 16 vs 19
Melbourne 5-2, 24 vs 19
Canberra 4-2, 22 vs 28
NZ 4-4 , 27 vs 21
Cronulla 1-6, 19 vs 32
Parramatta 2-5 , 19 vs 25
Souths 5-4 , 22 vs 18

Certainly highlights our defence issue, you want to be around 19 we are 32, the Panthers are way ahead of everybody.
In attack this is where it highlights that when people say we are briliant there we are actually tied 6th in the top 8 teams

it really sucks hey how bad our defence has gotten. As soon as the opposition are on our try line, I have no faith at all in us holding them out.

No problems we are 9 wins 1 loss that being against Dolphins

34 for vs 14 against.

Its basically reverse in wins and the f/a

against top 8 its 19 for vs 32 against

This so called great attack we have its actually a myth, the further you dive into it the more the myth spills ou.

If you take the current top 8 teams

we score 19 per game
against the next 6 teams we avg 26, there is a 5 game sample
Now against the bottom 3, another 5 game sample we average 42

The defence against top 8 is 32
the next 6 teams is 15
the bottom 3 teams is 13

The attack yes goes 42 down to 26 down to 19, worse to top teams
The defence goes 13 up to 15 then to 32, worse to top teams

Ok so we are basically the 8th to 9th best team in the NRL.

So we need to basically sign a superstar or two or hope that some of these juniors like Dykes, Stonestreet and Colquhoun can add some difference to the team.

I think Fitzy’s backing himself to get the level of improvement needed out of the squad we have.

I would agree the stats show in attack, we need alternative to Nico against the good teams.
Whether that is Trindall or Dykes.
Our hooker is average he dosent start anything, Kennedy needs to be bought into the play, and we get caught out.

Defence that needs make over the middles need someone in there who wants to hit hard.
We have Oregon and Redcliffe have Felise Kaufisi, you know who you don't want to be running towards.
Overall inside 20 defence needs to be fixed.
