Im reserving judgment for later in the year, but im happy with the start. I always believed that we were doing the right thing. As for Smith buying players, he does get the odd dud from time to time but overwhelmingly he buys good cattle.

You could hardly call Matt Hilder a fringe player.! 104 first grade games??? Read on the Sharks forum that they wouldn't mind having him back> personally think your new recuits are going well. Probably not some of their best performances this week. Penalties took it's toll.

Chris Houston today had a 5 minute segment which arguably single handledly cost us the game when the Warriors went out to 14-0.

2 drop balls ( one woeful ), and gave away 2 very obvious penalties which led directly to Warriors points.

The 14-0 was just too much to overcome.

As for Wes Naiqama - if there was a better example about " islanders " and their hands...

yeah, thats a shame about Houso. He has been good all season.

I am not convinced about those penalties. The strip was a suspect call.

He was certainly held down in the Tate tackle on the reverse angle. That said, he has no right to adjust his head position in the first place the way he did.

Still, a solid performer in the first three rounds, hope this week he was just off.
