How do we realistically get rid of the cat? The soccer injury classic feign that has crept into the game by idiots the that run it and by god Rex Mossip would be turning in his grave!

Do we make a player who grabs at his head or face or other part of the high region on his body, go off for a 5 minute Medico check? This may not work though because it will creep into other parts of the game eventually, as the game itself disappears up its own arsehole.

What are your thoughts?

The conclusion that Matt Lodge is feigning a head injury is not possible to achieve using modern medical science, and doubtful come future advances in diagnostic testing.

Any one who is unable to play the football without a game stoppage should be made to leave the field for a proper medical assessment

it’s up to the coach to decide if they’d like to use an interchange or play a man down during that period

Of course that doesn’t solve the issue of the officials not only awarding a penalty but laughably placing the incident on report which would have allowed a free interchange

the real answer here is we need officials on the field and in the booth who don’t search for any vague innocuous contact to justify rewarding this behaviour

You never played footy did you? I mean, I don't mean to sound condescending but there is no way contact to the head or neck can be eradicated from the game. Even if that somehow happens, the injuries will just shift elsewhere on contact. Do you suggest playing with no head at all?

A win at all costs comes into the calculation. If the coach insists that is what you are to do to get that 2 point pen goal or a penalty to go for a try, which could be the difference in winning and losing,what choice does a player have? I know people don't like this term, but winning seems to the bottom line in pro-sports these days.

And if your player does something similar in a GF, would that make you forever contemplate that your team didn't deserve that GF win?

But I put forward another question. Which is worse, getting beaten in a GF by someone acting like a "cat" and getting gifted the win from that , or a ref making an unforgivable blunder as which happened in the 2019 Easts V Canberra GF?

Saying crusher tackles can be avoided is a moment in itself. Sure, some can, but the vast majority are a complete accident and just part of tackling someone who themselves is trying to twist to find their front.

There are horrible crushers that should result in suspension etc, majority are accidental.

Typical NRL stamp out crack down that takes things way too far. Like the shoulder charge.
