UNHAPPY North Queensland Cowboy Willie Tonga plans to front the club this week to demand a playing release.

Tonga went public about his grievances with life in Townsville last week and intends to continue pushing to be allowed to walk away from his contract. Parramatta are eagerly monitoring the situation.

Then in Dean Ritchies column...same day...today:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...s-fans-speak-out/story-e6frexnr-1225954687465

Meanwhile, Tonga said he wanted to remain with North Queensland, despite suggestions he could be released to Parramatta or Brisbane.
"I've got no dramas with the club," Tonga said yesterday. "The Cowboys have been good to me."

So who is right...and when Tonga stays or leaves...whats the bet the Telecrap will say "As we exclusively revealed on the 17/11/10 we said Tonga would be staying/leaving".

geniuss...how about check the facts of your story first before publishing bullsh*t. This is why the standard of journalism in this country is garbage.

Just hedging their bets like any good gambler. After all, that news ltd rag does nothing more than take guesses based on made up sources.

To be honest, Willie Tonga is only a 50/50 chance of staying at the Cowboys.

He either leaves or he doesn't.

Weidler's 'connections' turn him into a publicist.

Try reading his Sunday column without finding a reference to Mundine or SBW.

Do any of the players respect Weilder ? When you see him interview them they seem to treat him like a redheaded stepchild apart from SBW and Mundine (and I guess now inglis)

Why would the Cowboys release Tonga when Tate just picked up a pretty serious injury ?
Comes down to if a club wants to pay a guy who doesn't want to be there. If he's made it clear he wants to be elsewhere it puts them in a difficult position. Force him to stay there and you're unlikely to get high quality play out of him.

Which is where he'll witness Souths destroy his team. At that point he'll decide he wants to be our coach in 2012.
Souths couldn't destroy their way out of a paper bag.

Greg Inglis has experience destroying a paper bag when it contains a meat pie though.

Or hundred dollar bills...
