Have to agree with spanner.

But, I can say bays point; if the results are crap next year then questions must be asked. However, somewhere along the line the players have to accept accountability and start performing.

This NRL gig shouldnt be taken for granted. Its not their right to place demands on the clubs a la Mason and be treated like over lords.

Their responsibility is to perform to the best of their ability and they get paid bloody better than I do to do that.

If its all too hard for them, come and join the average aussie on $55k per year and face a 9-5 job like us.

THE BIG L.D CALL HAS BEEN MADE

I thinks it’s a good thing

The more we have back from our successful days the better – Experienced or not, they are the foundational figureheads of the clubs history, and will only bring positives to a sinking TITANIC ß the views of most in the public

But Bay56

You say ur not a fan of Daleys coaching, yet also said you rate Mal Meninga as a better coach than Henry……….

I don’t know the details as to why you don’t rate Daley, I would assume Dragons results, when he was a consultant/assistant to the RED V

I cannot comprehend.

You said to me, don’t get your hopes up that Daley will come back

Then at start of this thread sounds like B.S

Now the news is out, he is now bad coach

Should have told me the first time about his coaching ability, cause you look like a debating rat/troll looking for more pieces of rotting cheese to pick at

You have answer to everything….but no answer for the club.

Constructive Critic or Protestor?

I bet ur one of those uni students, that rock up to animal right rallies, and throw marbles under the police horses, then blame the marble manufacture for making them

Troll on son…….Steve Buscemi – Mr Pink

ALL RAIDERS FAN SHOULD WELCOME THE GREAT LAURIE DALEY!

And I bet ur not going to rock up to Laurie and say to him……….go back to Willoughby studios, I aint a fan of your coaching……..he is untouchable mate, the statue doesn’t move.

whats more interesting is that Bay rates mal a better coach then Henry

surely a fan with such a long association with the club wouldnt easily forget the wilderness mal led us too under his reign, i love the bloke, sh*t loads of cred, an immortal of the game, but as far as coaching goes, he's found his place, at rep level where he just has to motivate the players and form combinations... by his own admittance, Mal does very little tactical work for his SOO side... now further investigation reveals, that its infact Neil Henry who does most of his tactical work at origin level... you know Neil Henry, dont you boys and girls? Current Raiders coach and the bloke bay thinks is not as good as Mal...

Interesting indeed
Edited: for the record i dont know for certain weather bay has said he rates mal over henry, im going off what ak47 has said

I dont think it is necessary for me to make such a judgement yet ...

Mal was a FG coach over some 5 years or so and had a better record than Elliott (who wouldnt) ... Mal was not considered to be a very successful coach with a success rate of approx 50% ...

It is yet to be seen if Henry can drag his record of about 45.8% up to Mal's, not to mention one of the worst defensive records this club has had in it's history.

For the time being I'll reserve making judgement other than to say I've not been too impressed with him so far.

what you mean a bunch of old, worn out, travellers who had no real concern for the long term future of this club and who should never have been signed and a bunch of enthusiastic young talent that a lot of other clubs would burn to have

you're right Schifty ... Mal was a bit behind the eight ball

I can recall I thread where bay was pointing out Mals success as a coach.

I cant remember verbatim, but bay mentioned that Mal had more success than Elliot who had more success than Henry.

Bay was also shot down quickly when everyone pointed out that Mal had a better roster than any of them, and Elliot had a better roster than Henry who lost 1000 collective games of experience before he started as coach.

dubby dubby dubby ... i agree with your first and second sentences as I was stating facts, not opinion

your third sentence is incorrect ... i was not "shot down quickly" ... and the comments regarding a better roster are ones of opinion

Apples and Oranges. Right now it doesn't matter a rats how good/bad Mal was really. Fact is Henry is our coach and all that matters is whether he can get the best out of one of the most inexperienced lineups in the history of the NRL.

Bay56 and some others still want Stuart as our coach, but if memory serves he's the bloke who farked up the Roosters halves when Fittler retired - much like the way Mal and Elliott farked up ours when Daley retired - so I see no reason to bang down Stuarts door right now TBH.

On the whole, there have been very few reasons to be critical of Henry since he's started IMO. Sorting out the halves and hooker positions will still be critical to our success, but have a look across the comp and see how many teams were in the same position to us in 2007. A hell of a lot of teams were rooting about with their playmakers all year...especially those outside the top 4.

Put it this way, how many reps did Mal have playing for him?

How many does Henry have?

Put it this way ... when was the last time we finished 2 points from the spoon .... when was the last time we had 652 points scored against us (2nd worst for the season) ... when was the last time we've heard of wholesale player discontent

The jury is still out on Henry ... good luck to us if he proves to be the next Bellamy or Stuart, I hope he does .... what I'm not going to do is blindly support him and I certainly will not tolerate another '5 year f**king plan'

We finished 2 points from the spoon in 2005. We also had the Worst attack that year. We had a sh!te load of stuff go against us this year. If we had our fair share of luck we could have made the 8.
