Lockyer or Soward again. As good as Carney has been, he hasn't played enough in the 6 this year to be the best. Although based on current form and the future IMO he will be.

Carney will have over 10 games at five-eighth by the end of the year, assuming no injuries to our halves and we go decent in the finals.

Even with not many games he's still shat all over the competition

Carney will probably get it, although I'd say Bird was also quite good.

Marshall would have to be some chance. He was going pretty well at the start of the season and so so since. A few shockers in the number 7 also.

I would give it to Carney.

Marshall hasn't been consistent enough, IMO. Though still worth a shout, and the season is not over yet.

Carney for sure. In the few weeks he's played there he's absolutely lit it up. Lockyer gets an honourable mention.

No Soward here?

Carney could yet take it if the Roosters continue their red-hot form.

If certain players were able to catch (such as but not limited to Fitzhenry), Marshall would have a few more try assists to his name. As it is, he leads all 5/8s in try assists, line break assists, tackle breaks & tries and is up there for line breaks as well. He's been up and down for sure and has his weaknesses but it's hard for me to think of a better attacking 5/8 in the comp.

Sutton was strong for the first half of the season and had the best stats for any 5/8 in the comp. But like Souths he had faded.

Marshall has been too up and down, Carney hasn't played enough games in the position, so Lockyer it has to be.

Maloney deserves it. Has carried his club and had more than a few man of the match performances, even if he has completely lost his goalkicking radar. Buy Locky will get it.
