Dally M Points are a JOKE

Gary Freeman must be nuts. How could you explain
Matt Gidley - 3
Hindmarsh - 2
George Carmont - 1

We won the game yet only one player gets Dally M points.
What about Dykes, Mckinnon, Widders, Vella, Wagon.

Surely Hindmarsh deserved 3 points for his 40+ tackles and 150+ meters.

I made the same point in the Dally M thread in the NRL forum. If Gidley and Carmont were two of the best on the field then they would have won the game. They didn't. Therefore they weren't.

In the end while Parramatta did turn it around 18 - 6 in the second half I thought we were extremely lucky. Our boys played well in patches, bar McKinnon, Wagon and Hindy however Matt Gidley did have a good overall game. A bit surprised but with Freeman as the judge not entirely a surprise. I am sure some of these are done at halftime as opposed to fulltime.

Gary Freeman has been anti Parra for a long time. I do not respect his footballing judgement as it is not based purely on football.

what a joke, as if Gidley was the best on the field. I thought Dean Widders shouldve got a point, Carmont didnt do much.

Sometimes I dont get Freeman, this morning on 2KY he was shouting "PARRA, PARRA, PARRA" then he votes for the wrong players in the Dally M. :?

Gidley was solid. Carmont was OK.

But in that case, what about Tahu?

He was brutal and scored a try (albeit a lucky one).

But surely, the battle for the Dally M points should have been between:

* Dykes (played his usual game, but stepped up and kept cool under pressure)
* Hindmarsh ('nuff said)
* Vella (first half ordinary; second half great; he really is better suited IMO to running at tired defenders)
* Wagon (GREAT game; 50+ tackles, and his hit-ups were hard and angled. Great knock by him. He actually went forward. Very good game.)
* Widders (played well all game; amde tackles and was always a handful)
* McKinnon ('nuff said)

And despite Parra getting done by the Tigers last week, Nathan Hindmarsh got the equal top rating in the game with 8 for his heroics.

Watched the game again today and how anyone could say Gidley was the better fullback over McKinnon I will never know..
