I feel this year has the best Dally M race I can remember.

Gotta be between Cleary and Tommy Turbo..

This was the top 5 before they went behind closed doors;

PlayerVotes
Nathan Cleary
21
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
17
James Fisher-Harris
16
Tom Trbojevic
15
Latrell Mitchell*
13

Can't remember exactly when it closed but I reckon Tommy would've got 3 for origin and then 3 tonight. Cleary would've got 3 this round too.

Who's going to take it out this year? If Manly continue to win then I don't see how Turbo doesn't win it.

Do you get points for Origin? I don't think so.

Both Tom and Nathan didn't play last week. Both would have got 3 this week, so the margin is maintained.

Cleary lost last year because team mates took points off him in the latter stages, especially Luai. In that regard Tom is at an advantage. He's head and shoulders best player in his team.

There's no contest. Turbo will poll 3 points every week uncontested. Cleary has Luai, JFH, Burton, Martin, Yeo, Kikau etc. Who will randomly take points as it's a team effort at Panthers while Turbo is clearly carrying Sea Eagles.

It's unbelievable how good he is. Queensland won't be able to stop him and his opposing centre will have nightmares. All things considered, Gapewell did about aswell as anyone else would have done trying to stop him. It's damn near impossible.

We easily stopped him but that's pretty easy when he's playing for Manly

Considering the games missed by Turbo and Cleary via origin/injury show how far ahead they are of everyone in the comp.
RTS might poll well, but he's so far off those two it's not funny.

That's why they put him back there for another go. They haven't got a better centre than our backrower.

Manly scored 50 against a top 8 side while Tom was rested. The rest of the team is going alright.

Hmm I thought they did give it for origin, guess not. I don't see why they shouldn't either, these guys are forfeiting 3 NRL games, so you could argue the Dally M favours non-Australian players.

The following is from https://www.nrl.com/hall-of-fame/dally-m-awards/faqs/ -

Are Dally M Medal points awarded for representative matches, for example, State of Origin and Test Matches?

No. The Dally M's recognises the best players across the 25 rounds of the NRL Telstra Premiership competition each year.

What happens when players are stood down from NRL Telstra Premiership matches for State of Origin duty?

To allow for the stand-alone rounds during State of Origin period, each player's "best" 21 matches where points were received are taken into account when determining the final tally for each player.
