I say Messenger was a myth. A player who's capabilities and achievements where exaggerated by News Ltd at the time because it suited them to have an award night (Dally M's) which was coincidentally similar to their evening paper at the time, the Daily Mirror.

Well its unfair in a way.If you play for the roosters you have less of a chance to win it as there are 4-5 guys who will steal points off each other.Same goes for Manly.When Parra win Hayne probably only has Sandow who could beat him to MOM on a regular basis.So he has an advantage. ALso you could play 12 horrid games and 12 great ones and end up on same points as someone who is more consistant but not as brilliant.

In saying that at the end of year most the time the Dally m winner is atleast in the top 5 players in the game

So Hayne missed an opportunity to get points last weekend (bye - that's fine every team has the same number of byes), misses out on points for origin, and then missed out on points tomorrow night from origin injury.

Doesn't sound fair.

Would make more sense for the origin game to be included into this weeks round, so if you gained points in origin your are intelligible for points this weekend
