He's a lot bigger now than he was in League. All in all he wouldn't be the same player. Isn't he like 32 now as well?

Willie Talau's been playing at half back for Saints this season, what about him

i`d forgotten about willie talau. how`s he been playin over there?

i think robbie paul will be the 1/2 back for the uk part of the tri series, but talau could be a good stand off.

cheers dazza

What's bigger got to do with that ? And there are alot of players over 30 still showing the younger one's how is done . Fitler is still the best stand off so Paul will still do well .
Don't put someone down because he went to union . Some guys who use to play NRL went to union and now they are back playing league at the highest level again .

He makes about two passes a game and two tackles a game in Union (there is a quote he made to this effect out there somewhere). Also he spends half his time trudging back and forth for the next line-out (on average there are 34 a game) or standing around while they reset the scrum for the third time. You think this kind of match experience for the last few years would make him suitable to play in the tri-nations? And yes, to my eyes at least he has put on weight and it don't look like muscle.

The quote small et pufy refers to is straight from Henry Paul himself. Paul made mention of the fact that his work rate in union is a fraction of what he was used to in league.

So, the upside is he gets to prolong his career as his body is less battered but the downside is that he's a poorer athlete and a lesser rugby player - of course this is the same path anyone who goes from league to union will travel.......
