Amazing how a big name player can jump ship only to be replaced by the unlikeliest of people - who is just as good. OK - I game - but geez Brett Morris looked outstanding tonight.

And before the whingers start, it's only a spoiler for Queenslanders who get too many favours from C9 anyway.

Just go's to show you that fullback is by far the easiest of the spine positions play.

Cracking game from Morris, always slammed him in the past for running in easy try's in the corner, but last year his combination with Cooper was much improved and he created a lot more.

Tonights game he was very impressive, especially with his runs ball in hand, seemed stronger than I can remember him being in contact

I recall his earlier efforts at fullback years ago were ordinary. He had an outstanding game tonight.

Definitely. Best game in that jumper for a long time by anyone. Vidot is filling in nicely in his old wing spot.

Beats me where they were going to use Moltzen.

Darius has been between average and terrible for us. However most of the team has been worse.

Considering he doesnt handle pressure well he'd be crap anywhere but wing

Good for him, nothing to do though with my opinion its a relatively easy position to play.

Yes indeed, playing fullback in first grade is a piece of p*ss :sarcasm:

Are we talking attack or defense? In attack not only is fullback one of the easier positions it is also the easiest position to look really good (that's why there are so many great attacking fullbacks).

In defense there are few i would consider to be really good. Even fullbacks who are considered to be right at the top often have poor defense (Dugan and Hayne come to mind).

Your right in that there are few that play the position well defensively but I think thats more a matter of heart then anything else.

When it comes down to it Billy is such a great defender at fullback because he gives 100% on every play and never takes a second off.

Hutty you get more time at fullback to execute your skill set then any other position. Thats why its "relatively" easy to dominate from.

Conversely I think center is the hardest position to execute from as its usually the point when the d-line meets the o-line. Unless you have depth or deviate from rigidity i.e early ball.

I recon either of St George's regular wingers could play fullback proficiently.

Nightingale is an outstanding player, and his odd step would be interesting at the line as a fullback. Just as safe and confident under the high ball too.

In an asside, Soward was outstanding too. Tigers tried drawing defenders away from him then hit him with a centre or second rower a couple of times near the try line but he made some terrific tackles. Kicking and passing was near perfect.

Hayne is a pretty strong defender in a one on one situation he is a pretty athletic fellow. I wouldn't say he is a bad defender he just doesn't have a lot of situation awareness. Dugan on the otherhand can be bumped off a tackle but has outstanding situation awareness and saves heaps of tries by being in the right place at the right time.

Neither are bad defenders.
