The point I was raising was that if they were anywhere near the top, they would've been frozen alive in that blizzard would they not have?

Not if the door is closed, as the cold air couldn't get through.

it was cold enough to bring down the Empire State Building or whichever skyscraper it was? I'd imagine it would've put out a fire

Not if the room was sealed off from the cold air. If it wasn't it certainly would have put the fire out, but they also would have been frozen instantly.

Haha, some people take things way to seriously. Every movie has a glitch and degree of unrealism (documentries excluded). We all know that. This one just ahad a lot more of them thats all...

To be honest, you come across as tools trying to disect a movie like that. I could understand if it was something like Schindler's List or Black Hawk Down but please, don't give up your day jobs.

The movie has to be taken on face value, which is pure escapism and entertainment which some of you obviously missed big time.

Please leave the critiquing to the experts when you watch Shrek II ok. I'd hate to hear about the poor lighting and camera angles used to show Donkey's hind leg or teeth.

Then why, oh why did they try and sell a friggin love story amongst all this escapism!? ](*,)

Bah, the movie was rubbish, but took my time and money in the process. So I guess the producers won there! :(

I never watched it for the love story and you are a sucker if that's why you went. I went for the big screen feel of a disaster movie and took it on face value.

I can understand your disappointment at thinking this was the equivalent of An Affair to Remember or All Quiet on the Western Front but I think you need to stop listening to Blocker's movie previews and make up your own mind.

The token romance is a standard part of Hollywood popcorn fare.

Think about the Neo/what's-her-face make out session in Matrix Reloaded, the single least sexy/romantic moment in film history.

Why is it different? Well I expected those guys to continue to make something fairly original. They didn't.

At least the romance in Attack of the Clones was a crucial part of the plot.

**sighs**Twizzle-./...... have you read any books about Pearl Harbor?, secondly, the comment you made how they made out Pearl Harbor to look like the Yanks won... Imean wtf are you smoking dude? did you even watch the film......did you even see the ROW apon rows of Battleship, Cruisers, and Destroyers? destroyed into oblivion..... its time ppl started thinking before they opened their mouths one should feel.

The phone scene I picked up on too but as CH said you`ll fine most movies aren`t perfect, you`ll find "stuff" that doesn`t seem right, ala Braveheart as he said lol.

William Wallace rang Longshanks in Braveheart whilst the New York library was flooding?

Goofs from www.imdb.com

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Any inaccuracies regarding the Earth's climate depicted in this film are intentional according to the director.

Factual errors: There is a soccer game on TV at the start of the film which according to the commentator features Celtic and Manchester United. Although it is Man U playing, the opposing team is clearly not Celtic.

Revealing mistakes: In the aerial view of the tidal wave flooding New York, we can actually see the cars being swept away in the bottom right of the screen even before the wave hit them.

Continuity: When Jack Hall sees the Library, we see no smoke rising from it. There is a fire in the fireplace but there was no smoke in the external shot.

Errors in geography: When Jack reached the library, he was coming from the east through the Statute of Liberty. But he started out from the south. With the help of his GPRS, there is no way that he would pass through the Statute of Liberty.

Factual errors: Payphones (electrical devices) should short circuit when even partially submerged.

Errors in geography: Relative position and the distance between Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan island.

Factual errors: People are able to touch metallic objects with their bare hands in extremely cold conditions without any visible skin or tissue damage.

People will pay to see it, that all that matters to the bean counters.

Guess what, the movie was based on fiction, not fact.
