Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans has informed the club this season will be his last for the Sea Eagles.

While the 36-year-old halfback has decided not to continue at Brookvale beyond this year, he will wait until later in the season before deciding whether to seek a contract elsewhere to play on in 2026.

Just announced on 360 as well. The Giraffe just got a big offer from someone. Dolphins? Parra replacing Brown?

Pretty happy with the way DCE has gone about it, shame the club owners and staff can’t bang brain cells together and communicate.

DCE not sure if he’s gonna play again or not, tells club to prepare for future without me. Pretty selfless, will suck seeing him elsewhere if he decides to go around again, but at least the club knows they can invest elsewhere for 2026.

I’m even more confused after his 100% footy interview. So he’s keeping his options open but one of the options definitely won’t be staying with Manly? Even though they’ve offered him 1.5mil which would make him the highest paid in the game? Nah it doesn’t track. There’s either been a big falling out at Manly, or another club, likely the Roosters have tabled him something that completely blows the 1.5 out of the water.

If he was leaning towards retiring there wouldn’t be the obviously backhanded tone about Manly.

Not what I took from the ch9 interview. He’s not sure whether he’s gonna retire or not, he’s just not stringing Manly along, giving them the chance to plan for next season. Loyalty.

I think it was 1.5m for 2years.
Yeah I think he made the decision as he doesn’t want to tell them he’s retiring in sept and leave them in the lurch for a half in 2026
