ITs a battle in the media to prove its about the coach and DCE not getting on vs Manly shopping DCE around last year. Neither is the correct reason
2 out of the 3 games Manly have played they were very good and that doesn't happen if the main player like DCE is not happy with the coahing staff (and the players around him either)

This DCE is a good player, but what a merkin to deal with... every time his contract is up he plays it out publically.

Signs initial contract, then sooks to get it increased substantially the next year, then the Titans saga. Thank Christ he signed a 10 year deal... imagine the shit show he'd create every 2-3 years if he signed shorter term contracts.

Plus wasn’t happy when Pvl was changing the rules without asking him first

Thats a reasonably simple view of a much bigger picture. The influence Cronk had on the team on the training field and in the sheds was enough to change the playing group to be premiers.
His game is about controlling the team and he did that pretty damn well
Exactly.

Players like DCE, Adam Reynolds etc are more than capable of that even if they aren't as good players on the field

Would be interesting to see how this affects his manly legacy. Ultimately he is a club legend, however he has only the 1 premiership, and many of the key player in that team make no secret that they do not like the guy at all, and the contract he is coming to the end of forced a lot of them out of the club when they actively took pay cuts to keep the band together.

He’s done well individually over that decade but they haven’t come within cooey of another premiership since he signed it, which was controversial at the time.

With DCE and his bullying antics gone, Jackson Hastings could be welcomed back to Brooky.
Nah, with Daniel Atkinson going to the Dragons there is only one option for Manly in 2026:

Time for Lachy to complete the trifecta of replacing the most experienced 7's in the game.

Nothing about DCE and the way he has handled contracts will lead me to believe he wanted a 2 year deal instead a 1 year deal.

He wanted something close to what Dylan Brown is about to get paid, he will be 37 next year.

He will go to the Roosters for peanuts to play for the world's greatest coach and Uncle Nick Politis, the greatest human to ever grace the earth. Contract not required, handshake sufficient.

I said what you wanted Mr. Politis, can I please have my kids back?

Then when he leaves they’ll sign 5 top players and tell us he was on $3m

Even at 39 years of age DCE would be a better player than prime age Dylbro, so why shouldn't he get decent money. Tommy plays about half a year and DCE has missed a handful (Broncos supporters hands) throughout his career.

Edit. Tommy elevates Manly to a genuine premiership contender. DCE elevates them from a bottom 4 team.

Looks like Fogarty as a stopgap until Large and Walsh are ready.

Might have been a bit of kabuki theatre earlier this week from Manly.

I appreciate they have a game plan but I'm not sold on it lol. Think I would have preferred they kept Humphries.

Manly obviously didn’t want him and the offer on nrl360 was a face saving gesture when it should’ve been put to dce directly

He’s worth at least another two years his form hasn’t dipped

Good luck in chasing the dollars there are no other elite level half backs on the market

Wouldn’t be surprised if png give him a huge offer for 2028 instead of a pension package from super league
