Gus was looking like the proverbial cat that caught the canary on 100% Footy last night. Waxed lyrical about what a great and articulate footballer DCE was. Then 5 minutes later explained how the Panthers and Storm were no chance of winning last weekend due to Cleary and Hughes missing. How important a great no. 7 was for any team. I was half expecting him to announce the signing of DCE in the next sentence. Daly Kebab Evans. Easy to top up any contract. Anyone hear the interview on ABC after the game on Sunday? Haven't seen it get air time anywhere else but it was compelling stuff.

DCE basically said money has nothing to do with it and there was another reason which will come out in the wash. Also heavily implied his next contract won't be for more or much more than what Manly offered.
