Every time I read about Cherry-Evans in the papers they mention every club in the comp is chasing him except us !

Are we still in the hunt for him or what ? I thought that our offer was bigger than anything else out there - anyone know anything ?

That's not true at all...one of the papers ran a big 'sharks circling DCE' spread when it was first rumoured he was looking around

Yeah that's my point they ran an article saying we were making a big play for him but the last 3 articles I've read in various papers have mentioned about 5 clubs except us that are chasing him.

I live overseas so that's all the info I get besides what I read on this forum.

Here's something to ponder:

If DCE goes to the Titans and part of his deal (as reported) is that he has a say in who is hired and fired, does this mean that the NRL will 'assist' in getting that player/s to the club? They have said that the Titans are integral to Rugby League. For them to get get constant support from the people on the GC they need to win, and win regularly. This requires quality players.

If the NRL do buy into 'assisting' them obtain players then a lot of clubs are going to be very happy.

Just a thought.

Well the first casualty appears to be us. DCE was always gone from Manly, and without the NRL intervention he would not consider the Titans. Which left us or maybe the Dogs. The dogs may well have gazumped us anyway, but it seems we were a real shot.
