All the talk lately has been about the pissant mundine echoles fight, why not this fight, it will prove to be one of the best fights of the year for mine, I am going to get it for PPV. I am tipping the golden boy to take it out, i am expecting it to go for the whole 12 rounds as well.

I think Oscar will knock Shane out. Mosley didn't look that great v Marquez and if Oscar is smart and boxes him instead of going toe to toe I think he'll endit in 8.

I have to agree with the consensus. Delahoya will be too classy. If he doesnt knock him out he will win a unanimous decision.

Well Mosley got the decision but f**k me that was terrible. Oscar kicked his arse. Terrible, terrible decision.

El, don't agree. Saw it from round one to round twelve and for me Moseley got more in and looked dominant in at least 8 of the 12 rounds. Admittedly, Moseley swung widely a few times, but i still think he was the better fighter. Oscar seemed to struggle for mine

Dunno what all the fuss was to be honest.

Im genuinely confused as to how everyone figured that Oscar won

Anyways....

Cheers,

Maybe these stats will help you Moffo,

De La Hoya - 221 punches, 115 power shots, 106 jabs.

Mosley - 127 punches, 94 power shots, 33 jabs.

Genuinely surprised mate, my raw impression was that Mosley hit more. Those stats are unbelievable

Nothing that Oscar did was particuarly memorable in my mind. Just my view of course

I dont have sky digital, so I missed yet another fight I was dying to see. Most people, fans & media seem to think Oscar should have won.
Thomas Hauser was on the radio today & said he thought it was close, but he went for De La Hoya. However, he also said many people he respected in boxing circles scored it for Mosely.

Like I said, I havent seen the fight, so I cant comment. All I know is the judges get a different perspective from us at home, they see things we dont & vice versa. Its easier to gauge accuracy from a TV set, but harder to judge power & clean, effective punching(which might be why some judges lean towards the agressor, e.g Tua/Rahman II).

Punch stats tell a tale, but not the whole story, & unless all judging is abandoned in favour of a compubox setup, you cant use stats as complete proof of a bad decision. Ring generalship, defence & effective aggression involve more than just a punch being registered.

The compubox stats are irrelevant as they're done by humans as well. No different than judges.

Compubox stats may not tell the whole story and can be misleading but they definately tell part of the story to a fight.

I thought DLH should have won, my view on things are DLH was the Champion and Mosley was the Contender and in order the recieve the belts Mosley had to convincingly beat DLH which was something that In my opinion and in the opinion of many others he didn't do.

And as for Mosley being more dominant and aggressive, i only saw this in 4 rounds, i must admit Mosley looked aggressive in the later stages of the fight but a lot of his punches missed and DLH landed most of his punches.

Interesting stuff guys. Those stats are handy El Duque. Where do you get them?
I remember a fight of DLH against Pernell Whitaker.
DLH got a unanimous decision and the scorecard was pretty one sided in favour of DLH. I got the impression Whitaker landed a lot more than DLH. I think Whitaker knocked him down in one of the later rounds? Could be wrong.
I went away from watching the fight thinking it was touch and go. I have no evidence to back my story up though. :? :? :?

The compubox site has the stats I'd say.

Whitaker did KD De La Hoya in the 9th and was unlucky to lose imo.
